West Brom are considering a loan move for Espanyol striker Thievy Bifouma - as midfielder George Thorne prepares for a temporary switch to Derby County.
The 21-year-old forward, who is known as Thievy, has been identified as a potential target for Albion ahead of tomorrow night's transfer deadline.
The Baggies are keen to bring in a striker on loan before the 11pm cut-off.
Thievy, a France under-21 international, scored 11 goals in 38 games during a loan spell for Las Palmas in Spain's second division.
Malaga were keen on signing the player earlier this month but Espanyol would prefer to move him onto a club outside La Liga.
Rennes have also lodged an interest in the player - although one major hurdle is that Thievy might opt to stay in Spain as his partner is pregnant.
Albion's other issue is that the French club are also willing to pay a transfer fee for the player, who has four years left on his current contract with the Catalan club.
The Baggies would prefer a loan deal.
Inter Milan forward Ishak Belfodil has also been linked with Albion.
Although the Baggies are aware of his availability, they are looking at other options at the moment.
Meanwhile, Thorne is expected to sign for the Rams some time today, with a view to staying at Pride Park for the rest of this season.

I'd like 1 quick left back, 1 quick centre back and one experienced striker.
Shame we won't get any of them!
Strikers are hard enough to come by. In January when you are scrapping around for loans I can't see us signing anyone better than what we have.
I don't think we'll struggle to score. For me left back is the most pressing area and better cover at RB and CB than what we have.
@chrislepkowski: Thorne loan move to #dcfc confirmed...and he signs a new 3.5 year #wba deal.
Cover for CB with someone who isn't as slow as an arthritic snail (you know who you are Diego) and a LB. That is all I want, but "wants" normally don't get
We are desperate for a LB.
Apparently we are only looking at trying to get a striker on loan/free
A striker is about 3rd on my list of priorities.
LB first, CB second, CF bonus!
For me...
1- LB
2- S
3- CB
Doubt if we'll sign anyone JH but we can dream.
PS: Anyone got a length of rope with a noose at one end?
West Ham sign Ivory Coast international midfielder Abdul Razak from Anzhi. Nice addition to go with the 2 Itailian internationals they purchased.
Fulham have signed Danish international William Kvist from Stuttgart and are in talks to smash their transfer record on a £12,000,000 Olympiacos striker.
Stoke are in talks to sign Lee Cattermole after already securing the services of Peter Odemwingie and Guedetti.
Sunderland have had a fee for Liam Bridcutt accepted and have completed the signing of Argentine striker Scocco.
Tom Ince is set to decide where his future lies today after having talks with Stoke, Sunderland, Palace, Hull, Cardiff and Swansea.
Palace agree loan deal for Tom Ince.

Without even so much as a mention robbing shît that's plagiarism.
There's no way we should sign this guy. Watch closely and you'll see he does a Hitler impersonation after scoring one of his goals:

Gutted about this. £4million would be a lot for us to pay though considering he plays in a position we are actually quite strong in, plus he's unproven at this level. Still, I've wanted him here since the RDM days
Plus we stood no chance now with Poyet at Sunderland
He cost 2.5
Another one missed.

@chrislepkowski: #wba been made aware of Javi Guerra's potential availability by his reps. Out of contract this June. No indication yet if WBA fancy him
^^^^^follow on...
@ElFregonero: @chrislepkowski Mel wanted him for Betis once. Such a good striker!
Javi Guerra will be a good signing. Good goalscorer who holds the ball up well. Hope we get him.
Can't judge him as I've never heard of him.
Unproven at this level but I guess if you don't pay the wonga, that's what you get.
