Hippo, no manager would have gotten us into the top 3 this season. Of course we're fairly low in the table but the season isn't over. IMO we're the 4th best side in the table and may well come 4th which is par.
A couple of midfielders in the summer and who knows.
imagine if de gea scores ten goals next season?
-----------------------------------------------
His tally of one against sunderland is quite enough thank you very much
He won't turn it around.
That game tonight is what we have to stride for. Do you honestly see a Moyes team playing like that?
If Moyes turns it round, I can see one or two leaving the board or their usernames disappearing and others mysteriously taking their place. I mean, some posters have invested too much of their souls in a certitude that Moyes is incapable of being the manager that they would never live it down. Perhaps one or two of them would find it hard to take pleasure in Moyes' triumph, having regarded him as the public enemy for so long.
Still, I have to say, we're rather a long way from that happy day as of this point.

very big statement to say
jose for one would have
Why not? I remember Everton coming to OT in 2012 and playing like that. Pressing us, throwing numbers forward and their midfield dominated us.
Remember that Moyes went to Leverkusen who are a pretty decent team and destroyed them 5-0.
agreed Red Russian.
Too many people on here are quick to wash their hands of the manager and are actually quite depressing.
When the chips are down they're acting like complete bittches.
The problem with modern football is that everyone is an armchair manager who think they could do better. Too much football manager goes to people's heads. Ive always said a manager needs at least two seasons. Nothing I've seen so far this year has changed my opinion.
If Mourinho managed your team you'd be top3 at least.
Agreed thebettertwin.
Forums like these can be great places to come and chat football but some of the overreactions on here are a snapshot of the impatient culture that we now belong to.
he optimistic ones are staying optimistic, the known wums are being as annoying as ever. The fickle ones are being as fickle as ever and the more reasonable ones are staying open minded.

The clown is back. How can anyone take someone who writes this stuff serious? FFS, not everyone has to agree with you. It does not make them "wums" nor "fickle" just as you are not a "wum" for supporting Moyes. Then you go on to say not one person can predict that Moyes won't be a success, you then follow this up with, "no manager would have gotten us into the top 3 this season. How the hell do you know this? How the hell do you know what players other manager would've brought in?

Be careful with who you're calling a clown. Your circus brings all the wums to your yard.
It's not about people all 'agreeing' with everyone. But there is certain levels of critique which people take too far on here and it's making this forum a pretty shittty place to be these days with the amount of so called experts casting their critical eye over things they don't quite understand.

Well, Mourinho isn't above Arsenal now with a better squad than us.

No one here thinks they can do better. The guy is paid 6 million pounds to do a job. If you are paid 6 million quid, criticism and heat comes with it. FFS, if people see a diabolical substitution such as Jones for Welbeck this should not be said. Football manager or not, this is something anyone with good knowledge of football should know ffs
First thing Jose would have done was bought a reliable centre back and mobile midfielder.
He wouldn't have dithered all summer like Moyes did. That's where it's all gone wrong for Moyes. He'd lost it before it had got going properly.

No, Jose waited until January to get a mobile midfielder and we all thought we had reliable CB's at the start of the season. It's only now that people are starting to think a new CB might be a good idea.

That's with Chelsea's squad.
With ours he wouldn't have waited till january.
Moyes didn't even address it in January either. He bought a world class player in Mata, but he's a number 10 anyway.
Imagine if Moyes led the team to finsih outside the top ten and then gets sacked... Robb will say he was right all along about moyes being the wrong choice and then becomes an arsenal fan....

Be careful with calling people wums and fickle. We lost to Stoke with 100m worth of talent up top. Rightly criticised in my book. I do agree it has gone over the top (see my article). Does not change the fact he is not cut out for this job.
Mourinho would play the likes of smalling and Jones in their natural position and not flank them in midfield or a make shift right back.
Moyes needs to really take the blame for most that's been going wrong at your club this season.
Mourinho would almost certainly have put you within touching distance of top spot.
