Imagine if Moyes turned it round?

You don't need a clinical striker if you have goals from midfield and Chelsea have that in bucketloads.

Oscar - 9 goals
Hazard - 11 goals
Lampard - 7 goals.

Their strikers have scored goals too though.

Eto'o - 5 goals
Torres - 8 goals

Hippo, no manager would have gotten us into the top 3 this season
========================================

One manager who obviously would have is Ferguson.

Which is part of what has made it such a difficult first season for Moyes.

Yeah, we lost at Stoke. But guess who else lost at Stoke with a front 6 worth £150 million just a few weeks back.

Yep, Jose and Chelsea!

I think Chelsea might win it now. They have better fixtures, they added another dimension in Salah in the window and they have Mourinho.

Imagine City not winning it after scoring all those goals. I'd pissss myself laughing. Could happen too.

First thing Jose would have done was bought a reliable centre back

-------------------------

Great example of the dangers of trying a man in the court of public opinion. Remember in the summer when we were rumoured to be negotiating about Garay? To a man everyone on this board was saying "does this guy know what he's doing? All the positions we need to strengthen and he wants to buy a CB, the one position we're strong in!"

And now it's "a decent manager like Mourinho would have seen the need for a CB right away."

if you really think that no manager in the world could take a team of champions, spend 60 million to improve it and then finish in the top 3 you need help.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A manager like jose would be able to get top three, i mean his record speaks for itself. If jose was at utd he'll be able to draw top drawer players more so than moyes could, even still, he'll be able to command the team in a similar vain as fergie did. It's no surprised that he is always in demand by the best and won with them.

a few people wanted a CB in the summer and I was one of them but garay was not the one i would have wanted to be honest

People need to accept that it's not our time right now just as it wasn't between 2003 and 2007.

Right now Arsenal, City and Chelsea are leagues ahead of everyone else and we are at the beginning of a rebuilding process.

Yes, we won the league last season but that was he end of an era.

Can people on here live with being a team chasing 4th place for a few seasons until we build a squad capable of chasing the league title?

if you can have that patience then Moyes will maybe have less unrealistic expectations from the fans.

Of course 7th place is unacceptable but the season isn't over. I fully expect us to get at least 5th but hopefully 4th.

Looking at the away games left for both City and Chelsea, I think you have to make Chelsea favorites now.

Chelsea have only got Liverpool left to visit. City have to go to Everton, Arsenal, Liverpool and come to United.

Going to be tight anyway.

Mate, seriously, why do you keep coming back like a bad penny? You literally are a cancer on this site.

=======================================

he had very reasonable expectations
he was told to get top 3 which he failed and he we are now in danger of finishing outside the top 4

robb, come on, most if not all fans on here just expect a top 4 finish, that is far from unrealistic

and you cant say no-one knows for sure how Moyes is going to do in the future, and then make a factual statement like "no manager in the world would have us in the top 3"

top 6 not looking too good right now. We've got some shocking fixtures coming up.

Mex, and we're still very much in the race for tp 4 so i can't see why people are so venemous in their slating of the guy.

I'm not saying everyone is like that but the usual suspects are dictating the mood of this place and it's becoming a very depressing forum.

I can see the more reasonable posters leaving and this place being taken over by people who don't seem to have the patience needed at a time like this.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

with Liverpool's FAR superior goal difference, we're as good a s8 pts behind them.

Top 4 has gone. It was slim chance at best but it went at Stoke.

Hopefully the manager will pay with his job and we can get a top class manager in the summer to take us forwards again.

there's plenty of idiots on both sides of the divide, and far be it from me to defend some of the 'Moyes Out' brigade but at least they give reasons for their wanting to get rid of moyes, whereas you just get idiots retorting calling them plastic and telling them to fúck of and support city

We're very much capable of winning at Arsenal. Not saying it will happen but we beat them fairly easily at OT so why not?

- Who the hell is that? Anyway, i was a regualr on here, but a certain person cried to the mods... Anyhow, you may want to look in the mirror. A poster who cry's to the mods, and spends his time generalizing and insulting those who don't agree with your tired and old rhetoric. And who changes the goalposts when he is contradicted. Infact rob, as it has already been pointed out, you entire post is a contradiction in itself.

So when you're ready, why not debate points than going off on one.

Mex, fair enough but the only thing that will prove either 'side' right or wrong is time and some people are willing to give Moyes time and some aren't.

I just wish people would be a bit more patient but some people have just lost their nerve and are ready to give up well before Moyes has had any decent amount of time to get things right which believe it or not is still very possible.

You and other reasonable people have said that if we're still struggling like this in December next year he's gotta go which is exactly how I and many people feel but yet the ones who want him gone NOW seem to be the ones shouting the loudest.
