Long term, assists show whos the best at it.
---------------------------
Don't agree, as I mentioned before it takes two players to make the assist stat. We (Chelsea) are terrible and converting chances, I think we are in the bottom quartile for chance conversion.
Chances created are a much better stat than assists.
That's not old though TBK.
Not young as well, certainly not in the same bracket as Oscar, Hazard and Courtois who are all 21-23
clearcutchances is better.

Brenda's Babes...if it's not all about stats, why comment on his 'clear cut' chances he's created??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That was aimed at the guy who says suarez isn't that good. He has had an influence in every aspect of our play this season
But even if you look at clear cut chances hazard isn't doing that well. Suarez is way out in front. There's also a 'second assist' measure to see who was involved in the build up.
Stats can back up everything.
I SUGGEST EVERYONE READS THIS. 4 pages of every kind of attacking stat. http://eplindex.com/49574/top-players-13-14-suarez-silva-hazard-ozil-adebayor.html
That maybe true Brennie which is why purely applying available stats is a mistake and that players musst be appraised ny non quantative means as well...
for example there are no stats to show how much space Hazard creates for other Chelsea players by taking 3 sometimes 4 oposition players with him wherever he goes...
there are no stats that measure his close ball control
there are no stats that show the mental pressure he puts on opposition defenders.......
You only have to watch players to evaluate them, you don't need all these feckin rigid stats..
And I don't need stats to tell me that Suarez should get player of the year...
Yeah true, but then again playing someone just because he scares the opposition doesn't necessarily help, not that that's what you're suggesting
Biggish is right. Stats can be very interesting and useful, but the way they are used, quoted and manipulated they can become almost meaningless.
Statistics don't define a player.
I've been using this and the old BBC forums for years. One of the biggest changes/trends is for fans to define footballers and the game itself using statistics. IMO, this is an immensely flawed manner in which to view the game.
Brilliant that Hazard geezer...really has an impact on the game!!!
Build a bridge Chelsea fans....he's not fit to lick The Merlin's boots................
And the aim of that nonsense was?
That's exactly what I thought whilst watching Chelsea get a lesson in football tonight....glad we're on the same wavelength....
Six league points VS a meaningless FA cup game.

You know it's true

what....the pasting you got tonight, or the massive Mourinho complaints on your board? Not sure....both are equally true and just....
What a silly twunt.
I'm glad when you beat us in the Cup Final a couple of season's ago it was an utterly meaningless experience for you.
