Sizzle.. I wouldn't bother wasting my breath on the cant really
It's all rather tedious and depressing.. football's much better
Most is not ALL.
"If it was all out there 'Wikileaks' wouldn't be a phrase we all know"
I don't need a self-righteous narcissist like Julian Assange to tell me about the unsavoury dark arts of the national/overseas security services etc that are undoubtedly going on.
With local government you actually do have a chance of affecting policy. National government though, haha, like they give a toss!
self-righteous narcissist or no he brought a lot of information into the public domain that had remained conspiracy theory up till that point. Same with Snowden.. or are his morals questionable too?
Much like glorious leaders of the past, men like these two are modern heroes that will eventually set us free.

I like it Sizzle.. better to know we're facked than to go around in the vain hope they're decent guys struggling through like we are
Your MP did exactly what was expected of them.
The "shouted down" was not their design.
So now your issue is the "shouted down" .
And come the next election, you make it clear that any party that does not "whip" its members into giving such questions due respect, is not getting your vote.
They get the message soon enough when the numbers hit a certain line.
RDBD, what do you have against Assange, or any other wistleblower?
FFS they are doing a public service. Maybe you were already aware, but not everyone was. What would you have the government do with him? If he is imprisoned, how is that any different from the political oppression happening in Ukraine?
LFC supporter - good luck for the match tonight guys, and a safe journey there and back.

No, my issue is that the vast majority of the population do not inform themselves. They rely on mainstream media to form their opinions rightly or wrongly.
I'm old enough these days to realise it's futile swimming up stream when the torrent of rubbish spouted is so insistent. I won't forget that i'm being lied to but I have to accept it as a cost of my comfortable life here in the UK.
Like Sizzle said re: spying - I kinda assume that most people know our leaders are lying to us they're just not motivated to do anything about it. Either like me they know enough to be disillusioned, or are so misinformed they'd prefer to stay angry at asylum seekers because it's easier.
"RDBD, what do you have against Assange, or any other wistleblower?"
Again, Assange is a self-righteous narcissist.
To even mention him in the same breath as whistleblowers I find offensive.
Sizzle
I do sign petitions and have been on the odd protest to see what it's all about. I've been on the streets of London whilst Sky News report bare faced lies, and repeat footage of a few idiots while hundreds of disabled people march for their rights beside me..
I don't fool myself into thinking it'll make a big change though. Maybe i'll contribute to it in some way.. you never know

You whined about your MP being shouted down.
Up to that point, you had no issue with the political process for the matter you felt he should try to raise.
It was a device RDBD, not an actual situation. My point being the reason the MP would be shouted down. The same reason he's there in the first place. Idiots.
The political process - in theory - is fine. The rest of it that underpins it, the capitalist interests at heart that form our opinions and government policies cannot be overcome by a petition.
For example, the Tories said at the time we'd have gone into Iraq if they were in charge.. Richard Branson was asked what side he sat on and said it made no difference.
