Did no one realise that the Scousers invented singing way back when ? Ken Dodd is generally acknowledged as being the first person to ever sing at a football stadium, at Anfield, when he performed "We are the Diddy Men"

ARAP You are essentially correct
Rather as Dennis Bergkamp was christened Dennis after Denis Law; Didi Hamann was so christened because his father was a keen fan of the hilarious "Diddy Men". In fact the Haman house was call "Knotty Ash" and Haman senior actually worked in the jam butty mines. He (Hamann senior) later became disillusioned with the show when in infinitely superior "Michael Bentine's Potty Time" was broadcast.

Someone was complaining the other day that no one sings 'Strolling' at the Bridge any more. I have a soft spot for that song so its a shame if it is dying out.

Liverpool have the best song in the world.YNWA belongs to Liverpool The whole world know that. We don't care others like Celtic Dortmund or some Dutch or other German teams singing it.

Blue Moon - Man City

-------

yeah. its a man city song. did they make it up though? or was it like a pop song that they just made their own? in which case it wouldn't really count I don't think.

--------------------------------------------

It's no different to "I'm forever blowing bubbles" in your original post.

I just assumed you meant a song/chant synonymous with only one club

I think the "Viva Ronaldo" chanmt was pretty unique at the time. One of our Cantona songs also is quite good, We'll drink - a drink - a drink...

All of the songs in this thread are stolen, they just had the lyrics changed to suit the clubs.

"Marching On Together was not stolen from anywhere."

True, but it was still a song composed by a songwriter rather than originating on the terraces.

I know you didn't. I'm just saying I don't class that as a song that originated on the terraces.

Out of interest, were the guys that wrote it Leeds fans? That would be pretty special for them if they were!
