it would be rare for songs to entirely originate from the terraces. Obviously pretty much all the tunes are adapted. If the lyrics originated from the terraces though i think that should count.

In which case every club has tons of them. Mostly rubbish but still, a lot of them!

What about man city's "This is how it feels to be city...." And the "Oooooh balotelli...."

Haven't heard anything like those anywhere else before they started using those tunes. Heard replicas since with different words and players

Out of all the games I've been to it's West Ham who have to most chants, although they're not usually about West Ham!

Chelsea pre-russian-trophy-buying also had a tonne of unique chants.

Liverpool and United are pretty average (streets ahead of my useless club Arsenal bar our away support which is as good as anyone).

Spurs fans,

What about - We're the Park Lane, we're the Park Lane, we're the Park Lane Tottenham... We're the Shelf Side.... etc

Is that unique to us? Never heard it anywhere else.

-------

arsenal have nicked this too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Chelsea Shed did also used to sing this in the early to mid 1980's, the 3 choirs that used to do it one after the other were the "The Middle" "The Westside" towards the Bovril entrance or "The White Wall" to the right hand side of the Shed.

No

at our peak as the Kings of football hooliganism we had..

the Stretford End Middle left side and right side

we had the Scoreboard paddock Middle left side and right side

we had the Scoreboard End Middle left side and right side

Stretford Paddock and United Road.

as the song went to the huddle of away support 5hitting themselves penned into the Scoreboard End... "you're surrounded!, you're surrounded!"

Derby have

"When you're tired and weary, your heart will skip a beat, you'll get your f'ing heads kicked in as you walk down shaftesbury street, you walk into the popside, you hear the mighty roar, f off you forest b'stards, we are the derby boys"

Obviously from a time of hooliganism but we still sing it today

I agree metro. The only team close is Utd. Northerners are much better musicians

Beatles
Oasis
The Smiths
Joy Division
The La's
The Charlatans
Stone Roses

----------------------

It is a completel joke when people from Manchester and Liverpool claim this. You could argue the Beatles although personally I think they are the most overrated band of all time and The Stones were far better but particually the Manchester scene is massively overrated.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Stone Roses and Joy Division among others but it is typical Manchester self hype (I lived there so I know). Most of those bands are more about invoking a remanisence and have one decent album.

The bands produced in London dump all over them from a height serveral times over, possibly because London is so big theydon't get considered as a part of local scene, in some cases the bands are more than just where they are from but the difference in the list of world class bands just makes a mockery of these ridiculous claims.

The Clash
David Bowie
Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin
The Who
The Rolling Stone
The S Pistols

Page and Jones were from the London suburbs and they formed in London, as with many bands they can't always claim to be pure from one place but London would have the biggest claim to them. Manc music is overrated.

To honest all you need is Bowie and The Clash to top Manchester anyway.

With a city with as many immigrants as London that will always be the case but Queen are still considered a London band, Mercury moved over young and with May they are key members, they also formed in London. They are more a london band than anywhere else.
