Insanity workout help please

If you do insanity properly trust me you will not have the energy and will not need to do weights on the same day. You will struggle to do insanity first thing on a morning. Get a bit of food for energy down you first.

It is tough. Very tough

Yeah the insanity stuff has weights as part of it. If you are doing more than the program you can't be using heavy enough weights.

Get on the roids bud. You'll never need to buy any of these Insanity workouts again

IF you can physically manage weights and insanity on the same day, then you're definitely not doing either right.

Insanity should really do a number on you tho, no matter what your physical conditioning is right now. The fitter you are, the harder you'll work.

Enjoy it. I threw up on numerous occasions doing it, but felt good after a few weeks. Your body gets used to the shock pretty quickly.

I did insanity about a few months ago for a week and then just left it. But want to start now.

So separate days then?

How tough is this thing anyway? How hard can a few stomach crunches be?

posted on 10/3/14

and the diet? I need to lose some fat but cant follow the diet in the program so should I just reduce my normal diet?

I'm an INSANITY survivor, I've done ASYLUM as well and I'm now doing FocusT25.

Used to bodybuild and can confirm, INSANITY is all you need. Pack up the weights, you do not need them anymore.

It is tough though, fecking difficult but the results are phenomenal.

Don't buy that shakeology nonsense. That is all an expensive scam.

Separate days for what? Like alternate between weights and Insanity? Nah, if you're doing it, the idea is to commit to only doing that. A day off doing weights is almost like a rest day. They have a program/cal included for good reason.

If you're worried about losing muscle mass, dont be. Ensure your diet is nailed on tho or you wont have enough energy to finish it (CARBS! You WILL need carbs! And muchos protein)

Mr Chelsea. It's a real d i ck. It's all about heart rate and intensity. The stuff you are doing isnt groud breaking, but the volume, and reps, and lack of rest periods, ensures your heart ticks away at 150-170 for around 45 mins (maybe a bit higher/lower depending on your fitness levels)

Rage

OK thanks. And the diet should be normal that I eat everyday. I am from South Asia and so there is a lot of curry in the week. In breakfast, egg whites? A fruit as a snack during the day?

I've been doing insanity for a year.

admin1, there's no weights involved at all.

no stomach crunches either Mr Chelsea!

I use to do it everyday, but now I've finished the 60 days I just do it every 3 days now which is more than enough to keep me fit.

I still eat junk food and I'm in good shape, dunno what my insides look like though

I would just try and stop eating loads of fatty foods and cut down on the beer and you'll be fine

Didn't buy shakeology or results and recovery formula. Give your body the right nutrition in the right proportions, I generally have 5 meals a day (3 meals and 2 snacks) and you will be fine.

You need to increase your protein intake as well. Free range poultry, eggs, beans, beef, very lean pork, fish, etc. Turkey as well.

There are weights unless you are using bands. I bet I'm getting it confused with p90x.

No more weights, I use my body and increase the reps or angle to make the work outs tougher. I've been doing a lot of research recently and there appears to be data that supports 25-30 mins of high impact workouts offer you faster results than a 2 hour drawn out session at the gym.

I'm currently doing FocusT25 and will probably stick with it for the rest of my life. Easier to commit to and do.

and what if I try to starve the day? With a breakfast, insanity in the afternoon and then dinner and nothing in between?

Less amount of food in dinner as well

That's P90x admin 1. However with FocusT25 there are resistance bands

Do not use bands those things are facking lethal. 30kg band snapping on an overhead press is horrifying. I genuinely thought I had broken my foot as the metal hit it at 500mph.

Hmmm, a diet for asian based food. Tricky.

Curry - Swap white rice for wholegrain. Dont be worried about having a semi decent amount, you'll need it (Of course, this depends on WHEN you'll be doing it. I'm going to assume the evening)

Creamy curries are obviously worst (korma etc), but just be aware that the chicken is fantastic, so if you have to scrape some sauce off, do so.

Naan, chipatti etc, no no's I'm afraid. Have some salad instead (Doesnt exactly go, but you need your greens!)

So

Breakkie -

3 poached eggs, 3 rashers turkey bacon, half a grapefruit

lunch 1 (around 12)

Tuna/chicken, salad, brown rice, fruit

lunch 2

Similair to 1, although can substitute for 2 scoops of whey protein, half a cup of ground oats, and half cup of semi skimmed milk and rest water. Shake up and devour!

An hour before workout maybe grab a banana and a handful or peanuts

INSANITY

Whey shake around 20-30 mins after, just water (Body doesnt have to digest much to get to the good stuff, with milk it takes a little longer, plus the extra fat you dont need)

an hour later, have dinner (see above)

Thats a real rough idea. But you can tailor it. Cut out sugars/fizzy pop/crisps/beer and you're half way there!

Never starve yourself when working out. You need your metabolism fired up for maximum results. You will probably lose some weight after the first couple of weeks then your body will catch on and say, hey, something's wrong here and rather than burning fat it will store the fat and use your lean muscle to nourish the body cos it thinks there's a famine or something.

Eat well, but eat the right sort of food and watch the portion sizes.

With insanity, you need food, trust me, almost passed out on the way to work when I did it once in the morning without eating afterwards.

ha, its true. I personally would never do it again. I don't hate myself that much. But having a goal was something cool to aim too. Now i just go to the gym and do Stronglifts. 30 mins. 3 times a week. Feel like Im going to pass out after every session. Crazy how different the 2 concepts are.
