don't think its unrealistic to think celtic would be looking at players right beneath their noses tbh ivan.
i'd be raging if we weren't looking at gauld etc, but do celtic leak it or is it lazy journalism? and what paper?
I don't see anything wrong with what the papers have said?
Journalism as a whole is very lazy these days and i think they have a tombola where someone picks out a name then a team in the morning and runs it the next day
Players wise i wouldn't be surprised if GMS, Cifti, Souttar and Gauld are linked with Celtic, Rangers or any other team to be honest, they have all day decent seasons
pretty much what I said nnh
lets sit back and admire how clever we are.

And exactly how does this club afford these guys bearing in mind they would all earn a decent wedge anywhere else?

mr Wonga...lend me some dough...
It's the laziest of journalism. They look at the upcoming fixtures to see who Celtic and Rangers are playing, look at the opponents team and decide who the best players are and link them to one of the Old Firm, regardless if there is any substance in the story.
This story would not have been run if we had been drawn to play St Johnstone.
Like I say, there will be a succession of these stories in the press for the next month and I would imagine that the journalist printing them will have absolutely no knowledge if they are actually a genuine target of Celtic or indeed, as unlikely as it is, Rangers.
"It's just typical of what we have to put up with in the run up to a game against your lot or the other ones. I was even saying the same thing to Keny the other day."
sorry Ivan, but I have to laugh at this entire post, as if it is some sort of attempt to unsettle United ahead of a Rangers game.
In simple terms....welcome to the spotlight
Big clubs are in teh spotlight, United are possibly now in the spotlight becasue they are playing Rangers in the cup, and its Rangers first game against SPL opposition at this level of the cup since our SPL days.
If you adn your club cant handle the spotlight...you'll always be a wee one.
Its rather embarrasing that you see this as an attempt to undermine and unsettle your team/players.
This is day to day stuff for big clubs
would not shock me if gauld was a celtic target.
its how the add petrol to the fire before a game though I guess.
St3vie, in truth we've had this stuff all season, but it's had a wee lull since Christmas and now it's being cranked up because we've been drawn against Rangers.
And regardless, it's píss poor journalism and we shouldn't just accept it.
it does happen stevie, I have thought it a few times with celtic and rangers tbh, the amount of times we are linked with our opponents players in the lead up to a game against them.
to show i'm not one sided, here is one - willo flood
prior to a Scottish league cup game. though we did end up signing him it took about a month to do it.

You are right it is...but like I say, a club like Celtic or Rangers or an English Premier League club has to put up wth rumours and speculation being back page headlines on a daily basis.
I cant sit and take a complaint bout this from Dundee United fan all that seriously when he is complaining about it the odd time the level gets cranked up coz his team has games against the old firm coming up
Ivan you sound a tad paranoid mate
Why are you worried about it unsettling players? If anything it makes players want to try harder against said team.
You would do well to have all your players linked with every team in the league, you might finish top 3 then

NNH, because I've had years of experience of seeing players form disappear because they become totally distracted with transfer talk! And then of course the talk comes to nothing!
I should also point out since we're having a dig about our league position, if we win tonight we'll have equalled our tally of points from last season with 10 games to go.
"When it's against a club who doesn't normally get that kind of thing then it's clearly designed to unsettle."
See this is the problem I have
Your players are getting media attention for two reasons
1) They are good players
2) Your club has a big game on the horizon possibly
The is only one reason for this....to sell papers.
Thismentality that its done to unsettle United players is utter bollox Ivan.....it is not the fault of Rangers that you players arent featured as heavily in th media, nor is itthe fault of the media that you are taking a story about your players as some sort of move to unsettle them.
Like I said....welcome to the spotlight
If you cant take the heat...get out of the fire.
Good players attract media attention...see Stevei May at St Johnstone.
Rangers players arent getting linked with a move away other than Lee Wallace who is the only decent player we have.
Your players are gettig linked with a move away becasue...tye are good players, adn thats the fcking end of it Ivan, away with the paranoid "they are trying to unsettle our players" pi$h
