My Dad is a right old Gooner and he always pulls out the blank contract, double your wages deal offered to Ray Kennedy. Liverpool always paid the most.
================================================
Arsenal were in the process of breaking up their double-winning side, and Mee thought Kennedy had a weight problem. He was signed just after Shankly resigned, and before Paisley took over, so it was said to be the chairman who bought him, simply because he was available.
I don't know how your Dad knows what Liverpool paid their players, I don't think that kind of thing ever got publicised, in those days. And my Dad knows more than your Dad.
I've no doubt that the clubs with the biggest revenues paid the highest wages, but I've never seen anything that suggested Liverpool paid the most (in fact, I'd be very surprised if they paid more than United, whose revenues would have been higher even then).

I don't know. Mythology of fathers, I suppose. He used to go to highbury every week until the acid kicked in around 1966/67.

They were okay in LV I told them i loved Chaco Forever which they appreciated. They were rich and kinda snobby though.
There's only one of our Ships gone into BA since 82 and I think that was the Endurance which was just an Ice Patrol Ship.
They exert a lot of influence on other SA countries not to let us in as well!

I had a Mexican girlfriend who stuck up for every CA/SA country apart from Argentina. She couldn't stand their arrogance. Really disliked them.
I don't know, never been there and I love their no-nonsense approach to Football.
My favorites are Penarol, dirtiest bastardos on Earth. Maybe Montevideo is the place to go (Uruguay, obviously. That's for the Liverpool Fans)
I actually went to the Montevideo derby with Penarol when they played Danubio.
We were outside the ground with TV cameras on all the lads, with the interviewers asking us who we wanted to win.
We'd all bought Danubio shirts and jumping up and down, arms around each other chanting Danubio
Quality day!
Monte Vid is the best place I've ever been for steak as well
And you survived!
I have to go to a Pena game one day. It always looks frikkin awesome.

The game was at Danubio, hence we had their shirts!
Drop TCP off there. He'll be fine
Internacional is the big city rival?
Danubio is like Orient or Spurs?
Yes they were sort of like that standard, possibly one of the worst grounds I've ever been to. The outside wall was about six foot high and white washed!
It was the only game going on there during our visit though!
Best pics I can find I'm afraid!

Nice, similar to the Spurs project but less KFC's.
I think the Tottenham Northumberland Park project has been modelled on it
The reason i despise the mouser is they play on the hillsborough disaster (and yes it was awful) but never mention the 39 killed at Heysel and on top of that their snide chairman blamed it on Chelsea as he heard a lot of Southern accents outside the stadium. Well guess what scousers claim a 70 odd million fanbase Worldwide but the population is about ½ a million, so its very likely that you have a lot of Southern plastic fans boys. Grobelaar the matchfixing git also claimed it was a Chelsea millwall conspiracy. Well id guess theres more chance of leeds and man utd gtting along than Chelsea millwall. i forking hate the slimey lieing pikey filth. i hope we beat with them our second string kids and man city take the title.
Vava, this is a long and painful read but worth it. Maybe all football fans should read this and remember, I certainly think all LFC fans should. It's only a game of football.

Thanks for the advice Brum. Quite fancy Uruguay now
Its more the other way round, Liverpool fans started this when we became the second biggest team in the country behind United.
They were too jelly they still wouldn't accept it to this day even a decade later that has been full of proof.
SO if they hate you you must hate them.

Vava, its a touchy subject, but I think you're right that it sums up why fans of many clubs, especially those over the age of 40, can only laugh in dismay at the portrayal in the press and media of Liverpool FC as some kind of national treasure.
Imagine if the actions of Chelsea fans had resulted in the deaths of 39 opposition fans, had got all English clubs banned from Europe for 5 years and then, to rub salt in the wounds of grieving families, had taken 20 years to even muster an apology. Do you think we'd be allowed to forget it or airbrush it out of our history? I think we all know the answer to that.
And then they, rightly I might add, vent their disgust at people who make light of the Hillsborough tragedy. But type Liverpol and Munich into a search engine and it produces 4.8 million hits. Many painting their club in a very unflattering light. I agree that two wrongs don't make a right, but they never stop to consider the hypocrisy when they slate other clubs and supporters.
Liverpool and their fans like to portray themselves as so much more special than any other, but they seem to forget that there's a lot of us old enough to remember an awful lot of their 'history', warts and all.

its also down to the individual, im not big on hating other teams, i dont see the point, i give arsenal allot of grief on here at times but thats just to annoy a few of them on here who annoy me and it makes me laugh.
But ive good mates in real life who are big arsenal fans and i dont say that stuff to them as its ridiculous when you say it aloud
i can honestly say i dont care if chelsea win the cl and i really only want madrid too this year as i prefer to watch them then the remaining sides i enjoy the football they play, still love alonso and think ronaldo is a beast. But if chelsea win the c ill be happy for them, will go out to watch the final with a few chelsea lads i know and have the craic.
Whitewall i do think your letting sites like this get to you, if you keep reading and commenting on the lfc board then youre going to wreck your own head more then anything if all the stuff youve listed annoys you.
If it was spurs or arsenal or everton doing what we are doing it would be the same on their boards maybe not so much with chelsea or united or city as theyre more used to winning titles.
