I think Thurman beats Porter fighting on the backfoot. Porter will be cautious against Thurman, nothing like he was against Devon and Pauli. If he fights too aggressive, he could get badly hurt and maybe stopped. He seems to have a good chin though.

Maybe.

If Thurman doesn't fight with the right game plan, Floyd wouldn't struggle too much against him.

Thurman has to fight the way he did against Quintana to trouble Floyd, he has to pressure Floyd.

Against Chaves, he fought he boxed on the back foot after trading early on and getting his nose broken. Against Soto as well, he fought on the backfoot.

He needs to swarm Floyd, he can't try and box him.

If he fights with the right gameplan, he could give Floyd a very, very hard time.

I'm not sure if Floyd's got enough fights left to fit Thurman in though. After Maidana he's got 3 more. Khan will be one of them, I think Garcia will be another. If Pac is completely finished by then, he could fight Pac as well.

Not as bad as cherry picking a clearly shot Mosley when your supposed to be the best fighter in the world. Or Clottey. Or Margocheato. Rios

I think Maidana has the perfect style to beat Danny, RGK. Matthysse is a more methodical puncher, Maidana is non-stop pressure for 12 rounds and a bigger guy.

Danny was fortune against Matthysse with that eye injury, the dodgy knockdown and all the lowblows, he won't get that sort of luck again.

Floyd said he don't want 6 tough fights when he signed his Showtime deal.

It seems he doesn't want even one.

The keys to beating Mayweather is handspeed, pressure, footwork, great stamina, power and the left hand/great jab.

As you can see Pacquiao was his kryptonite and that's why Floyd ducked the fight for 5 years.

Thurman lacks in the relevant departments, but is still too big of a risk for Floyd.

If Thurman catches Floyd like Shane did, he could finish the fight, so you never know.

Floyd hasn't fought a natural southpaw in almost 10 years. Ortiz and Guerrero are both naturally right-handed fighters, so their straight left is no good. They're bums anyway.
