We were willing to sell lucas, then the sakho thing happened so we stopped lucas being sold, but if lucas was close to leaving doesnt that imply he wasnt good enough, now how does that in turn mean hes an adequate replacement for sakho..

He played him last season as he deemed him better than skrtel and toure, but now he's brought in matip and Klavan he sees those as better. And looks like he wants Gomez as his fourth choice centre back.

On the face of it, having him in the squad is a no brainer.

The fact that UEFA facked him out of a European final and a tournament in his own country may have had an affect. I don't really get why all that has been brushed under the carpet. I'd be livid.

Presumably because Sakho did do something naughty, he just got away with it for a longer ban because UEFA made a mess of it.
