Even at Southampton Mane picked up various muscle injuries. We will have to get used to him missing games here and there.

I don't think it's unreasonable as a season ticket holder to expect the club to have a budget for players and then spent that budget on improving the squad by getting the players it needs and the players of quality that it needs to take it to the next level

---

I don't think it's unreasonable for the manager to expect fans to trust him and his methods for longer than 4 games into the season.

Here we go!

I'm happy to have Klopp as our manager but after a third of a season in which we blew hot and cold, I'd expect the club to know which areas of the squad needed to be improved up on. So it's not just after 4 games is it?

The fact that in a season where the biggest influx of tv money ever has hit and clubs who don't make a 30% what we make are spending £50m net. We made a £14.5m profit!!!!!

Now as I said above I'm happy that the dross has been shipped out as we usually always make a loss on players. Are you telling me that you are 100% happy with the squad and think we can challenge for a top 4 place with millner at left back?

Why not?

You haven't given Milner a chance to show what he can do at left back. You have just decided he can't play there. Early evidence shows he has done alright. Not amazing, certainly not terrible.

Historical evidence shows Klopp has experience of playing players out of their perceived 'natural' position, to the benefit of the TEAM.

I think had we beat Burnley then there wouldn't be half as much moaning about the transfer window as there has been, which shows it's a bit silly as that was only 1 game.

I don't why people expect teams to be built in one or two transfer windows.

It's a process, a process not helped by having no European football (and if you blame Klopp for that you are mental, not saying you do).

Nobody is ever 100% happy, there is always something to question, but I don't think the amount of money spent comes into my thinking at all. It's completely irrelevant.

What matters is whether the team is improving.

It's too early in the season to say whether we have or haven't. You can make a case either way right now.

I trust the manager though, so am optimistic the players he has signed will improve the team and make us a lot more competitive in the league than we have been in 6 out of 7 years.

I don't see playing 1 experienced player out of his 'natural' position as being the end of the world.

To see if the team is improving will take time but the simple fact is that klopp has been in the job for nearly a year. Have his methods improved us?

For every great game where we batter teams, there's a poor game where lose when we shouldn't. We still concede stupid goals from set pieces. Our defending is still mediocre at best and I'm not happy and to be honest quite sick of players playing out of position instead of getting players in to do the job!

Whilst the new players will need time to settle and I'm happy to give that time but this is a huge season for klopp and I think the decision not to strengthen at left back could be one that bites him on the @r5e.

'To see if the team is improving will take time'

Meant to say the new signings will need time.

We have reached two cup finals (after none in 4 years), and have vastly improved our record against the better teams.

So yes, I think his methods have improved us.

There are still obvious weaknesses, as you would expect from a manager in the job for not even a year.

You say you are happy to give time for the new players to settle, while displaying no patience whatsoever in any of your posts.

My problem is not with the players, not at any point have I said I'm not willing to give any of the players the time they need. I'm extremely happy with Mane, he's exactly what we need and have lacked for ages.

Karius has to be better than Mignolet and is a crying shame he broke his hand because I'm sure he'd have started as number 1.

Klavan I know nothing about but he's been in the German league for years so Klopp must know him, he'll need time to settle but as he's a replacement for Skrtel and Toure I'm happy with him.

Matip has been brought in to be a starter, his previous club wanted to keep him and again I'm sure Klopp knows him. He'll need time and will get it from me.

Marko Gruij has looked a real prospect in the few games I've seen of him and hopefully he'll become a real player for us but that will be in a few years.

Wijnaldum was a strange on for me, came out of nowhere. He got 11 for a poor Newcastle side but I thought yer, he's got goals in him but we seem to be playing him deeper. Only time will tell if he can do it.

My main problem is not with the players that have been brought in but with the failure not to address the one glaring hole that was in the team last season and that is left back. It should have been the first thing sorted out.

Now you seem to think that I'm not showing patients from me discussing things on a fan forum????

I think goalkeeper was the first issue to sort and he did that early. Very unlucky to lose a keeper to injury, hopefully Karius will come in and not look back.

Left back is a problem, but it's also a problem that's not easy to solve. It's one of those positions where quality is hard to find and harder to entice. There are only so many quality natural left backs around. Chelsea have played a right back there for years and are one of the richest and most attractive for players around.

I'm sure ideally Klopp would have wanted a better natural left back. I'm sure the money was there for him to sign one. It's not as easy as that though. Selling clubs and potential players have opinions and usually options if they are good.

It's obviously escaped your attention that our two deep midfielders have been injured, Can and Lucas. Therefore Wij has had to job share a bit with Henderson, neither naturals in a more withdrawn role.

With Can and/or Lucas available, I'm sure both Henderson and Wijnaldum will get chances and license to get in the box more and it will be up to them to score and make goals to stay in the team.

I just think it's doom mongering to say we can't challenge the top 4. It's 3 games in and we are in touch.

Can't see anything about how long he could be out for but its a problem with his knee.

Be a real blow for us if it is 3 months.
