Seems a rather bizarre career choice from Ayre but each to their own, if it means he's not here cocking up transfer deals I'm all for it!
Just joking of course, he's actually done fantastically well on promoting the clubs brand in the last few years, one of FSG's better appointments since they took over.

Depends if Sunderland broke any 3rd party rules to sign players when he was there.
They won't want to risk the attention if he did.
The only english manager with potential is Eddy Howe.

I'm sure I remember some article on the old 606 claiming he paid a referee's company to redo the tarmac on his driveway... It was probably a WUM but might be worth bringing up again with all this speculation!
How funny would it be if auld red nose was implicated in it?
