Sturridge is not even anywhere near as good as Sturridge can be.

Ings isn't nowhere close to Sturridge in terms of quality.

He's a decent player, a hard working one too that will score a few goals but talent wise there's a big difference.

He may not even return to being the same player he was pre injury too for all we know. Just look at Jay Rodriguez, looked one of the hottest young strikers around before his long term injury, he's a complete nobody now.

He doesn't have to be as good as Sturridge.

He just need to good, and crucially, available game after game and session after session.

Sturridge is barely playing as we are winning and scoring loads of goals.

Sturridge has lost his pace since that season alongside Suarez.

I still think he is one of the best strikers in the league but I feel he thinks he is better than he actually is now. He is a prima donna in my eyes and watching LFCTV and all the interviews he tries too hard to be the king of the club.

I trust Jurgen and if Studge left next season I wouldn't be that upset as we have a good forward line now.

If Sturridge could run like Klopp wanted his centre forward to every game, filling the defensive spaces that Klopp talks about, then I have no doubt that he would be playing virtually every game.

He can't/won't though, and there is no evidence that Klopp is about to start playing him for a run of games.

Maybe Sturridge will be happy as a relative bit part player if it means we are challenging for the top honours, but that seems unlikely, so I can't see anything other than conflict somewhere down the line.

Do you really get that vibe from sturridge? 'king of the club' thats laughable, just seems like a guy that likes to joke around, nothing wrong with it in the slightest, hes doing in an interview/personal life not on the pitch.

Sturridge will still get plenty of starts i'm certain, it only takes an injury or even a little niggle to any of Coutinho, Lallana, Mane or Firmino and he comes straight in just like at Chelsea.

We regularly get injuries in this area this week, it looks like Origi will be missing. Was wondering why Ings was an absentee last night, expect he will be on the bench now.

Origis injured? has klopp done the press conf for saturday?

Depends what you mean by plenty of starts Neo.

I don't think he will be happy with starting even half our games (and I don't think he will start that many personally).

To be honest you can tell from the way we play why Klopp doesn't play him. You can see why Klopp feels others are better in that position.

I watch him on the pitch as well and he does get huffy. He is pretty self centered in my opinion but hey if we all thought the same there would be no discussion board.

I approached him at Gatwick airport once to get a picture as he was stood there looking like he was waiting on someone. He ignored me completely. Jordan Ibe on the other hand came over and gave me an autograph and had a quick chat with me.

he is greedy and strikers need that greedy streak but i just get a feeling that he is not the biggest team player on and off the pitch. I hope I am wrong.

As you say I think it would be about half but all it takes is a long term injury to any of the others and he will probably be playing most.

It's up to him to take his chance when he gets it and tell Klopp he can't drop him, that's what all the rest of our attacking players are doing right now.

As great teams says he is too good to play for anyone outside the top six and I can't see him moving abroad. A situation really should be desperate to avoid is having to sell him to one of those teams around us, I could easily see a team like Arsenal coming for him and he would score absolute bucket loads alongside Sanchez and Ozil. Let's just hope it doesn't come to that.

He's only too good for lower teams if he is fit and firing.

He's 27 now and has had 1 good full season in his career.

People say Aguero gets a lot of injuries (and he does) but he's got 20 goals a season 7 times (this season will be 8 with 11 scored already).

Sturridge has 1 20 goal season to his name, and to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get another one in his career.

He won't though will he.

There's a reason he's been a pro for the best part of a decade and scored 20 goals once.

Ability you can match him up with anyone anywhere really, but that's no good if you don't play.

The most games he's played in a season is 43, and he's only played over 30 twice. That's incredible really.

When he was at Chelsea I wrongly put that down to not getting picked so didn't agree with the injury prone angle.

That's not a debate now though.

His body just isn't up to the demands of top level football.

Used to love Sturridge and even his dance but when he put himself first over the team it went really low on my expectation. Some games we really needed him but his mentality to only play if 100% fit took the mick.

Good job Klopp wasn't buying his excuses and now we are fortunate to not rely on him.

We really need to be getting Sturridge onto the pitch whenever we can. If that's for 20 games a season the sobeit. It's not like we can get a player in as good as him. It could make a difference to our season.
