Just heard that muggy Noel Gallagher cant on Sky trying to mock us, saying it was the best season in our history but we still only finished second
City winning the domestic quadruple yet still being overshadowed by us winning the big one would be way more accurate

I don't get why buying someone like Dybala is seen as a backup who would hardly play though. City are an anomaly and I'm not expecting us to have the same depth they have, but they manage fine with rotating their options.
18/19 apps:
Sterling - 51
Sane - 47
Aguero 46
Bernardo Silva - 47
Jesus - 46
Mahrez - 44
So why is it their able to rotate their attacking options but anyone we sign would only play 20 games a season?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sane only started 21 of those games for example, so 20 isn't far off the mark. Not many players who are better than Ox, Shaqiri and Origi would be happy with starting 20 games a season. Even less in our case as our front three play most games. They don't get the injuries Aguero gets, for example.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Plus Sane is rumoured to want to leave for more playing time.........So it doesn't seem like he's happy with the current situation. In my opinion Dybala is the kind of player who will want to play virtually every game if fit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firmino had a average season last season despite the team success. At times he badly needed a rest. We did not have the forwards to drop Firmino and nothing has changed if Mane this season has a stinker.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So again, who do we buy that will be world class, yet happy with being told "you'll play when Bobby needs a rest, or IF Sadio turns to shat"?
I get it, I really would love us to be in for a player like Dybala. BUT if I was Dybala, would I prefer to go somewhere I'll have an easy in to a good team and will be billybigbollox? Or somewhere I'd have serious competition for a place in the starting 11 and not be the star man? Ego baby. All top players have it. It's the sole reason Neymar left Barcelona. He wanted to be the top dog somewhere. I can imagine Dybala is similar.
Certainly won't be any excuses for Pochettino now.
If they get all those lot how much is that spent in one window- somewhere between £200m-£220m if i'm right.

We did that with Keita and Shaqiri last season a fair few times... And that was before Fabinho got up to speed.
Because Shaq and Keita are midfielders?

Weren't playing in that role though and Shaq has never been a midfielder until he joined us.
It was Bobby who dropped into midfield. Shaq was on the right.

hell yeah
He's signing for Tottenham
If we had signed Dybala, I can't see anybody on here thinking it's an outrage and he wouldn't get into the team.
Yet here we are trying to justify the decision to do nothing.
It may work, it may not, I don't know. Not pretending to see into the future but I'd suggest the vast majority of the time, bringing a world class player into the squad for a cut price fee is pretty unlikely to be a bad thing.
Fabinho Keita
Salah Firmino Mane
Dybala
That's an insane line up. Arguably one of the best in Europe.

Exactly Fred. We might as well just for the fun of it get a transfer ban because the squad we have is un-improvable.
I wont lie, I'll be a bit miffed if Dybala is available for something like £70m and we haven't tested the waters a bit.
Although you could say our target is a wide player and not a centre forward like Dybala.

Dybala can play in the wide position and play up front.
I.e. the perfect player to be added to our squad
On the right though...we need someone who can play left & right
