They have to reschedule. Season ticket holders etc have paid money and deserve to get to go to a game. Better this than empty stadia for me.

Right decision.

Seems a lot more simple in terms of implications to postpone the start of next season and scrap certain parts of it like domestic cups, than completely void this one in my opinion.

My missus has been sent home to isolate following high temp and cough and my son is already off with a cough. I think we are going to get it in days rather than weeks unless there is a lockdown.

Man, me and wifefrom parties a bit too hard last night. Feeling it today. Can’t even call out sick as I’ll be forced to self isolate for 2 weeks.

if she had a high temp and a cough she shouldnt have left the house, Thats the number 1 most basic thing. by leaving the house you jeopardise others, potentially elderly, potentially diabetic or asthmatic.

When they say underlying health conditions diabetes and asthma are two of the most at risk groups, its not just visibly ill 80 year olds carting around their oxygen tanks, you could potentially cause people with quite common issues to die.

i think you need to register it on the NHS health site, and probably a good idea, for yourself and son to follow the advice for self isolation in the home i.e. using seperate bathrooms where possible..

its got to my area!

There is 1 case in *******, out of a local population of 141,538

It has been in my area a week, someone went and got our only doctors surgery shut down yesterday by going in with the symptoms...

Idiot. 17k people without Healthcare for two days for deep cleaning, at least and the doctor in question is now self isolating for 7 days..

People with repeat prescriptions etc that require doctor visit are screwed..

A girl who works in my wife's office and lives with her brother was just sent home as her brother tested positive.

The best thing that could happen is that young healthy adults get it, experience the minor symptoms and then recover. The more of us that get it, the less likely it will be to continue to spread.

Apparently that's why the government has not restricted gatherings, festivals, sports etc.

posted on 13/3/20

it kind of needs to spread doesnt it, if you force everyone to isolate now for 2 weeks, everyone will just come out in 2 weeks and it will then spread instead

unless you completely lock the country down, dont allow anybody out until the last case has finished (not practical)

Also not massively beneficial as then nobody develops immunity...

Every person that gets it gives it a chance to mutate and spread.

Thats why we cant stop the common cold or influenza, too many strains..

The governments policy to try and develop a herd immunity (which they acknowledge will be at the cost of many lives) isnt recommended by the medical profession because even 2 or 3 good mutation will mean this becomes a season illness, culling people yearly with mutated strains

I understand you can also get Covid-19 again if you've had it, you don't develop immunity but will be more resistant to it.

People die year in year out in the thousands from seasonal illnesses, interested to know whether overall the death toll from seasonal illnesses increases or not.

I think it's accepted by many this will just become another cold / flu virus. Minimal symptoms to the vast majority, dangerous for those who have particular vulnerabilities.

Some strains will be stronger some will be weaker, same as the flu.
