My missus has been sent home to isolate following high temp and cough and my son is already off with a cough. I think we are going to get it in days rather than weeks unless there is a lockdown.

I guess they are not the vulnerable target patients so whatever it is they will recover IA.

Hes trying to aggressively takeover a German company that's making good progress on the vaccine so it would be the exclusive property of the US..

While the rest of the world has been collaborating to try and save lives the facking orange arrrrsehole is trying to make sure only America has access to it

Thats where I read it too, so I looked up elsewhere and saw that the CEO with links to the administration had been removed and had been in meetings with trump (from other earlier sources) given that the guardian has a pretty good record for accuracy and those two elements appear true its very hard to dismiss the rest of the article, or the company's reasoning for the staffing change.

The feckin nerve of Rooney, complaining that the football authorities are only bothered about money. What about us normal people, who are far more exposed than him in our own work, but have to do it regardless of the risk of passing it to our own family. Most of us will be in real financial trouble if we couldn’t work for even a month. All he’s done is highlight just how detached from reality his like really are.

Writing in his column in the Sunday Times, the former England captain said: "The rest of sport - tennis, Formula 1, rugby, golf, football in other countries - was closing down and we were being told to carry on.

It's basically game theory in action. So that the US could potentially use that as a resource to:

Be better protected itself
Be richer through sales
Use it as a diplomatic tool ie using it as a lever in trade negotiations

Cantish move though.

It's also still an issue for us it being in europe, we used to be their central hub of pharma.. And manufacture a lot of the drugs here, but that's all gone to the mainland now.

As such we join the list of third countries wanting the vaccine when they are producing it, but being in some unknown spot on the priorities list, with severely reduced pharmaceutical production here even if we are given access to the patent we won't produce it fast enough.

So far 61 confirmed cases here by us. Government has issued the following:

The following measures will be in place amongst others:

* Limited contact with persons who may be infected.

* Travel ban on foreign nationals from high-risk countries such as Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom and China as from 18 March 2020.

* Visas from those countries cancelled from today and previously granted visas are now revoked.

* South Africans returning from high-risk countries will be subjected to testing and self-quarantine.

* Travellers from medium-risk countries – such as Portugal, Hong Kong and Singapore – will be required to undergo high intensity screening.

* Gatherings of more than 100 people are now prohibited.


* Schools will be closed from Wednesday until after the Easter weekend.

* Visits to all correctional facilities cancelled for the next 30 days.

* All non-essential travel for all spheres of government outside of the country is prohibited.

* We further discourage all non-essential domestic travel, particularly by air, rail, taxis and bus.

* Strengthened surveillance, screening and testing measures at OR Tambo, Cape Town and King Shaka International Airports

* 35 of the 53 land entry points will be closed and 2 out of the 8 sea ports.
