The best thing that could happen is that young healthy adults get it, experience the minor symptoms and then recover. The more of us that get it, the less likely it will be to continue to spread.
Apparently that's why the government has not restricted gatherings, festivals, sports etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Every person that gets it gives it a chance to mutate and spread.
Thats why we cant stop the common cold or influenza, too many strains..
The governments policy to try and develop a herd immunity (which they acknowledge will be at the cost of many lives) isnt recommended by the medical profession because even 2 or 3 good mutation will mean this becomes a season illness, culling people yearly with mutated strains
----------------------------------------------------------------------
People die year in year out in the thousands from seasonal illnesses, interested to know whether overall the death toll from seasonal illnesses increases or not.
I think it's accepted by many this will just become another cold / flu virus. Minimal symptoms to the vast majority, dangerous for those who have particular vulnerabilities.
Some strains will be stronger some will be weaker, same as the flu.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You realised this is between 10x and 60x more deadly than the seasonal flu/cold right? Its pneumonia....

It’s measles, not pneumonia. Measles is a lot more infectious as well.

Yeah i don’t think encouraging everyone to get it is a good idea.
Postpone football 2 months, play behind closed doors if necessary and finish the season in the summer as it doesn’t like the heat, as evidenced by us here in NZ having virtually no cases and no new cases in a week.

this virus ain't going anywhere anytime soon.
It's going everywhere actually, that's the problem.
I never realised how desperate other fans were for us not to be crowned champions. The number of posts and comments from people basing rumours and opinions as fact as if they themselves have a vote on the final outcome
I might share a few of my own rumours and opinions & post a Champions 19/20 thread.
From there point of view it is quite funny though. 30 years of wait, we smash the league and then a pandemic spoils the party.

Fred, seriously mate, your opinions on here have been staggering over the last few days in relation to C19. To the point where I don't even know if you're taking the pi55 now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fred just posts what he thinks will make him look like some kind of cool voice of reason. He over does it though, and just looks daft.
It's funny how when a lot of rival fans are presented with logical solutions for completing the season, they're like "hmm, sounds complicated. Might as well just void it"
I think Fred is just a bit younger than most of us on here
what I don't get is him repeatedly posting that folk will celebrate if he gets ill

Karen Brady on sky sports saying the only fair thing to do is to void the league. I'm sure it has nothing to do with West Ham being on the verge of relegation

what was her reasoning behind this
That if the games can't be played when we re-start in 3/4 weeks then we should void the season as we wouldn't know who could be relegated/promoted etc.
I don't see the issue with an indefinite suspension and then the PL decide what to do once we're in a position to play again
No one knows where this is going and it could happen again next year.
After we going to cancel the league every year when a new virus breaks out
No you suspend and carry on when it's safe
Got this WhatsApp message which claims FA rules state that if 75% of games have been played then the season cannot be made void. How true is that?

Found this funny
I think the 75% thing is made up, but I could be wrong
I’ve seen the actual rule and I don’t think it applies, it’s more applicable in the case of a football club going insolvent and having to withdraw mid season.
