God's Window
It's called Mpumalanga now...they did away with the Apartheid naming of Eastern Transvaal lol
True though there are some really nice places across the country. Nice history.
I wouldn't say Randburg is thaaaat close...still a 2hr/2 1/2 hour drive one way.. When I lived in Pretoria East that was close...like an hour easy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah God's window.. took a cherry from Lens over there.
God was watching
Crystal Springs, they had lekker chalets and stuff.

Also midtable at moment meaning no CL football hence the desperation.
Just had a nice turkey sandwich for lunch. Big glass of milk. Didn’t spend any time thinking about null and void vs suspended.

same with arsenal the mid table cants
Arsenal fans don't seem to care even half as much as Spurs fans. They all have a very small club mentality, caring too much about another team winning something.
80% of wages up to £2,500 a month for workers. And a promise to reimburse laid off workers if they are taken back by the company.
I'm sure you guys will find something to moan about but...
Have to say that's pretty amazing.

Theres plenty to moan about..
Coutries that had their first case 4 weeks after ours, had their worker protections out 2 weeks ago..
We have dithered for 6 weeks longer, unlike on corporate protections which were released weeks ago. Which means people have already lost jobs..
I would rather have seen a UBI than this and the corporate protections (which accounted for £8k per person in the uk) so that we could still keep the economy flowing, those who are stuck on the front lines get some extra from the government too.
It was a much needed chance to try a system that's going to be necessary as jobs are shed by automation.
Its a great week policy, but a 6 week lag compared to other countries has cost loads of livelihoods already

Questions...
"We have dithered for 6 weeks longer, unlike on corporate protections which were released weeks ago. Which means people have already lost jobs.. "
I think that's been considered because if workers take those staff members back on, their wages will be paid.
How is a UBI which anybody would receive regardless of their situation (even those not remotely affected by this like me) preferable over targeted spending?
"Its a great week policy, but a 6 week lag compared to other countries has cost loads of livelihoods already"
Any numbers as to the loads of livelihoods? Also this was covered in the original post by companies being able to take back their staff and receive the same benefits.
The yanks are still arguing amongst each other about their help packages. At least our own government was able to put aside party politics for once in their lives.
Also, it’s very easy to sit behind a keyboard and say what the government should be doing. You have the luxury of not having to implement what you say. Maybe the government was a little slow to implement this plan, but it’s a huge decision to make and as long as the right one was made, then who cares?

We still don’t have a government due to the outbreak escalating just after the general election.
IMO we should have a National government in times like these with all politicians working for the good of the people.
Probably too much to ask

I think the Gov are slowly walking us into a complete lockdown, could it have been done quicker maybe but I think they are dong ok.
it's now about the greater good and acting responsibly, tough times ahead but if folk try and stay calm most of us should get through this ok and the same for family and friends.

I reckon they should ban trollies except for those who are infirm.
That way people just use a basket to buy that which they need for the short term.
