We now have no senior CBs and our emergency out of position CB is injured too. FSG- no problem here, we will be very disappointed in you Klopp if you dont retain the title.

He isn't emergency out of position though. He was our planned fourth choice centre back for the season. Both Fabinho and Klopp have spoken about him being trained in defence for two years before this season, which is evident when he plays there.

Sounds like there is a bit of optimism that finally Klopp might get the green light in these last few days to finally get a centre back.
Relying on another Edwards masterclass now.

More so than ever I'd imagine with Matip injured. Going to be extremely difficult though, judging by the lack of transfers around Europe so far.
We could at least get someone on loan or get Grujic back to play as a CB.

Yeah? How many players do we play? Which teams are we playing against, what tactics are we using for the particular game and why are we playing the same team every week?

Personally, if everyone was fit, I'd gave Fabinho at CB over Gomez anyway.
Klopp likes to make a tweak to his system for every season. I think this season he was planning to completely dominate possession with Thiago at 6 and a very high line, with Fabinho being good on the ball next to VVD and of course the option to play Fabinho at 6 for the more difficult games.
Everything was ripped apart with the injuries and whilst the last few weeks haven't been great, we're still up there and in with a shout. You wouldn't think it if you listened to many of the people on here. Every team goes through bad times and if people don't understand the mental strength of this squad by now and how they, more than most teams will come through it, then they never will.

Of the teams that have played 20 games we have the second best defence in the league despite the 7 against Villa.
2nd best HD in the league.

Fabinho is a good reader of the game defensively but he is not a CB. I would play CB's in their position and Fabinho should play in a double pivot with Thiago in midfield. He made 3 mistakes which have resulted in goals, he lost the header against West Brom, the one against Burnley and the foul against United.

Considering our defensive issues with injuries, this is just staggering.
Except that Leicester, Spurs, Arsenal, Aston Villa & the bitters all have conceded less goals than us lol
Hoody going Donald Trump on us.
It’s not just about how many goals we do or don’t let in though, it’s the overall impact on our game. There’s no doubt that our defensive issues have affected our attacking play.
The midfield, the pressing, the counter pressing. Everything gets affected.
Yeah excellent performance, very pleasing.
Also a few more rumours of CB's this morning.
I'm sure Mustafi wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but at least he would add experience and would only be a short term deal. Let's see. I'm willing to take pretty much anyone as a short term fix now.
Subotic is a free agent. I know he was never quick and he's 32 now but surely he's worth the gamble. Was brought through by Klopp at Dortmund if I remember correctly.
Yeah, he'd be a decent-ish option too.
Thing is...agents know we're desperate so will try to milk us for as much as they can not just in terms of wages but they'll also ensure they can a maximum term as well.
Essentially FSG need to look at short term loss - long term gain
Until the new CB gets injured as well
