I'm sure Mustafi wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but at least he would add experience and would only be a short term deal. Let's see. I'm willing to take pretty much anyone as a short term fix now.

Nat Phillips once again did show that at this moment he is a better defender than Rhys. Yes is passing can be poor but just from a defensive point of view he has not let us down.

Subotic is a free agent. I know he was never quick and he's 32 now but surely he's worth the gamble. Was brought through by Klopp at Dortmund if I remember correctly.

If Klopp knows him so well then maybe, just maybe, there’s a very good reason he’s not trying to bring him in. Are you also not curious as to why he’s without a club at this stage of the season, especially as he’s free and clubs have no money to spend?

Yeah they're playing well enough, I'd still fancy us to beat them though.

I was most pleased with our attacking patterns last night. Spamming crosses was becoming tedious and predictable.

Klopp likes to make a tweak to his system for every season. I think this season he was planning to completely dominate possession with Thiago at 6 and a very high line, with Fabinho being good on the ball next to VVD and of course the option to play Fabinho at 6 for the more difficult games.

Everything was ripped apart with the injuries and whilst the last few weeks haven't been great, we're still up there and in with a shout. You wouldn't think it if you listened to many of the people on here. Every team goes through bad times and if people don't understand the mental strength of this squad by now and how they, more than most teams will come through it, then they never will.

Phillips is an easy selection for the weekend. Obviously we don't have much choice but I'd have played him regardless. Won MOTM in the reverse fixture and we need his height against a big West Ham team, particularly Soucek and Antonio. I trust him to do a job in these sorts of games.
