I absolutely HATE football.

Good morning starshine
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good morning!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought we played well first half and with a little more luck/composure could have stuck one or two in the onion bag.
2nd half credit to them they strangled the life out of the game and slowed it down to see it out.
Classic 2nd leg play from an experienced outfit.
It happens, so hey ho we move on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Reals game management was and is excellent, they still got huge experience in the side.
I thought Nacho for them was VERY good..
Yeah the change in shape killed whatever momentum we had. Then after Ox & Shaqiri came on, we literally only had Jota & Salah in the box against 5 - 7 Madrid players. Game was done.
Also I know Mane was bust but he should've moved into the central role instead of Salah. His movement is just more dynamic.
Salah's movement piiiiiiises all over Mane's.
To exploit space?...I don't think so.
Okay. I'm not sure you'll find many that agree.
It actually wasn't necessarily a bad performance, the intensity was there in the 1st half, just not clinical enough where it mattered. An early goal with one of those chances, particularly Salah's after a couple of minutes, would have made a big difference.
It all tailed off in the 2nd half and, as has been said above, there just weren't enough bodies in the box and it seemed as if trying to play through them and through the middle was never going to work with how compact they were. Needed to get Robertson and TAA touchline wide and looking to put some quality crosses into the box, but making sure that 4/5 bodies were in there, particularly at the end.
Let see if I can word it properly in the warped mind of mines. Salah movement is more 'self-serving' if I can word it that way. It's why he always gets such a ridiculous amount of goals. This is in no way a bad critique of him as a player. Mane on the other hand I feel is more selfless in his movement. He has no problem taking up a position in an area of the field that will stretch the opposition but will likely mean he has no direct effect on the ball or the play.
How often do you see Salah make a run that opens space for someone else. I see it all the time with Mane. Just last night he did a few times for Milner and Robertson.
It all works in tandem really. The movements of Mane and Firmino do give Salah the space to make the run on the inside of the full back, which in turn does open up space wide for TAA as well. I think Salah's movement does open up space for TAA, but his movements are not intended to open up that space out wide, his runs are intended to penetrate the opposition back line, hence why he scores so many goals.
I think Salah has the more penetrating movement, where he will always look to run on the inside of the full back or down the side of the opposition's LCB, which opens up space wide. Whereas Mane will do that as well, but will also run across the back line of the defence or just in front of them which can drag defenders out of position and open up space for others.
Using words like dynamic and penatrative is moot imo and tbh unapplicable.
Salah has probably the best movement in the league, he gets more howls, more assists and literally makes more runs.
Here's Hoody's brain malfunctioning again because someone has different opinions to him

Yes he does this often however this time I think he's right.
Salah's movement and ability to find space is without doubt the best in this team.
Don't get me started about that miss in the second minute though
I wouldn't say they are inapplicable, they are just a description of the runs you say he makes. He doesn't make more runs, he just makes more penetrating runs than what Mane does.
Although Mane's runs can sometimes be seen as sacrificial to an extent which makes them more effective for the team as well.

To create goal scoring opportunities no doubt. He's one of the best.
Sometimes you need more though, to bring a better balance to the team. It's perfectly fine what Klopp did last night. Mane is in horrendous form in front of goal. Salah has been carrying the team in that respect so why not put your in-form player upfront in a CL quarter final where you're chasing the game but you could tell shortly after that change that we lost all rhythm.
This is why I said Mane should've moved upfront. Maybe his movement would've suited the team better.

Though I also have to agree, certainly this entire season at least, Salah's movement has been far better than Mane's.

So if you were making the decisions what sort of moves would you make in summer?

In regards to transfers both in and out?
Ox, Matip, and Kieta, shaq gone. If we can get a good fee for Mane him too.
