Kept crying about Salah not getting a new contract but now quiet as a church mouse. If Salah does not return to form then giving him a new contract was a mistake IMO. We could have probably brought in Bellingham or AN other.

Zielinski was magnificent against Ajax. We were very interested in him a few years back.
We need to get back to a midfield three. Our pressing with the front four wasn't well coordinated.
I thought VVD was more aggressive in his defending.
Whole team was notably more aggressive today. Hendo and Thiago really snapped into tackles in the first half. We eased off at 2-0 which is understandable but it was concerning how easily we conceded those chances at the end with Kostas clearing off the line then Ali's save from the subsequent corner.
Thought Nunez did well. OK he didn't score but he was doing all the right things. Not sure if I was imagining it as well but Trent's positioning was much more orthodox than the rest of the season.
Also think we're nailed on for 2nd in the group now after Napoli's win at Ajax. Can't see Ajax or Rangers getting a result in Naples and there's no way we beat them by more than 3 goals at Anfield so we'll likely come second on H2H record.
Can we finally put this Trent in midfield nonsense to bed.
Also we looked way better as a team yesterday but I don't think the front four is a long term thing. For all their interchanging and we did create some decent chances, we still needed a freekick and penalty to score.
No complaints but a step in the right direction for us this season.
We were up against some Scottish farmers
Yeah...and Arsenal & City will up against some lorry drivers and fish & chips merchants
Took an outside bet yesterday on all home wins. Facking Spurs & Napoli
Dreading the Arsenal game, feels like Everton in 2021/22 where they caught us at a bad time and finally got a positive result.
Think we might get turned over. There were shoots of recovery yesterday, but not sure it'll be good enough to get a result against one of the two form teams in the league.
Good Tifo IRL video on how we adjusted the shape last night. Good to see I wasn't imagining things when I said it seemed like Trent was staying much more compact and in an orthodox RB position.

I'm more confident if we get back to basics and what we're used to, like last night. Defensively we were much better. Obviously Arsenal will pose more of a threat than Rangers and we'll need the third man in midfield...but the fullbacks roles should be what they were last night
would be funny if we dismantle them at the weekend
I think we'll double down on the experimenting a bit for now so a win is not totally off the mark

Honestly I'd stick with the system from last night but with Firmino in as the no 10 and Jota up top for Nunez. Feel like we need the change in system to give the appropriate cover to the full backs and Firmino doesn't mind dropping into midfield to help out anyway. Plus he loves a goal against Arsenal.
Jota over Nunez purely because I think he's a better finisher at this moment in time. Klopp might prefer Nunez's physicality up against Saliba and Gabriel though.
I'm not against it as long as the discipline is there. Arsenal are a different kettle of fish to Rangers though.
I think we need Firmino, Carvalho or Elliott behind Nunez if we want this formation to work in the long term. All three of them are technically good to receive the ball in tight areas unlike Jota who likes to run from the wide areas or run behind.
A wild take but can't we play that formation with Hendo and Fab sitting while Thiago gets the advanced 8/10?
Bobby ain't a 10. He came on yesterday and his touch was awful. He is simply a variant of a 9.
Think Carvalho would excel in the 10 if we give him that position.

He's not ready
Keita is only back on the 3rd of November
Did he break his legs or something lol
Does anyone know what happened to Arthur yesterday? Was not in squad.
The Athletic reckon that yesterday's performance actually affords far more defensively solidity than our normal 433 (or at least the way we've played it this year).
I'd like like to see Thiago - Fabinho with a front 4 ahead of them.
