£700! Where do you live? Balmoral?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bucks
I've just been watching the rates over the last year slowly increase and the chances of holidays equally slowly disappear. F'ing depressing tbh. But there are people in worse positions so I'm trying to be philosophical about it.

Got made redundant 7 years ago after 20 years in a job so put a chunk off my mortgage then and continued paying the same rate to get it paid early
Hopefully mortgage free at 53

You lucky I don't unleash special ops agent Term on you

I never knew Fred was a tory.
I got some mortgage renewal quotes over the weekend and I think my payments are going to go up by £700 per month! I blame Fred and the rest of thewho put Liz Truss in charge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m in the same boat from a mortgage perspective and my current fixed rate mortgage kindly ends when Mrs Fred is on maternity leave so I’m doubly fvcked.

Anyone here had good experiences with mortgage brokers? I've never used one before, do they generally get access to better rates than advertised or is it not really a thing these days?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Going through this at the moment, we have a friend who is a broker and she gives great advice but pretty much every product she's suggested, we have also found ourselves on L&C.
I think it's useful to get advice, market info and a little forecast
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks mate. I'm assuming the advice was pretty much, don't tie yourself down for too long or look for low exit rates so you can react when rates drop again?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep pretty much, but I was also surprised that she was suggesting we should seriously consider variable or tracker mortgages too - over the last decade that would have been a fool's choice given unnecessary exposure but her rationale now was that it would react to base rate drops relatively quickly, and the spread from fixed rates currently is very slim in some cases. Then again, who knows how transitory this inflation is going to be, Eurozone and US are doing better than us right now, and we're like in-store for further increases

Kane would be a very good fit for them. He has exactly the attributes they need and is a clinical finisher.

Blimey that's a great shout. Is Benzema rumoured to be leaving though? Seems like he's still going strong and delivering output

apparently this is old news, oopsie woopsie
Scotland captain etc
Watched Celtic in the CL and they weren't bad in their play but at the end of the day it's about the quality of players. Playing his style with Dier at the back won't be a wise decision.

It's weird, I find the majority of Spurs fans (IRL certainly, but on here too) are quite downbeat about Spurs - there's a strong element of gallows humour, that they'll always find a way to spurs things up.
And then there's a small section that are completely the opposite and seem to think Spurs are a massive club and should be challenging on all fronts!

Thuram and Kone also at 25-30m Euros.
FSG with another window without going above £100m.
It would be terrific business if we can get three midfielders under 100m.
These Jorges jokes are working.
Absolute steal for Mac Allister given at one point there was talk of £70m+
Honestly think about it, they got 65m for Cucurella... let that sink in. Rejected 70m+ for Caicedo.... let that sink in. If these rumours of below 45m are true its insane and there must be a reason.
