Fwiw, I'd be totally behind TAA as captain. But it's odd seeing him touted as possible captain when for large chunks of last year many wanted him nowhere near the pitch even!

Trent still needs to show he's matured a bit

I mean we're all getting excited over a haircut

What do people think Klopp wants.

Does he want Henderson to stay do you think? If so, why?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I expect he wants lots of things, but he’s also a realist. He’s always said he’d never stop anyone leaving if they want to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's not what I meant Term.

I'm just asking what people think Klopp wants, snd if he does want Henderson to stay (and personally I suspect he very much does) then why?

I'm asking because many seem to think that this "leadership malarkey" is no big deal.

40 for Fab and 20 for Hendo at this point in their careers is up there with anything Edwards did in terms of sales

It's certainly good business.

Chuck the money at Madrid for Tchouameni or Brighton for Caicedo and we're sorted imo

We were promised a wild transfer season

If they both go then we've lost Ox, Keita, Milner, Hendo, Fabinho (and Arthur) and only brought in MacAllister and Szobo so we'd need more than one signing I think.

Would also mean we'd have lost 3 of our homegrown players in one window.

Kash said it would be another sell to buy summer and he may well have got his wish.

I really wouldn't count Ox and Keita tbh

Assuming we have money for Lavia prior to this Fabinho and Henderson news...then we should still proceed with his signing regardless of what happens with Fab and Hendo

posted on 13/7/23

If we sign Tchouameni or Caicedo plus Lavia (home grown) then I think letting Fab and Henderson go is brilliant business.

Tchouameni and Colwill would actually make me praise FSG. Shudder.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely you’d be delighted if it got to a point when you’d be praising FSG?

This line gets used a lot and you may well be using in tongue in cheek but actually it took the arrival of Cantona, a huge character who got games over the line when they were struggling to really change the mindset. Then Keane joined the year after and Utd dominated.

Talented players, sure. But those two were the leaders. Ensured the attitude on the pitch was right to win points they arguably shouldn't have. Like Stevie did for us, only he was surrounded by crap for much of his Liverpool career

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I was using it tongue-in-cheek but I like your point and it's well made.

I’m not saying it’s not important, but that too much is being made of it under the circumstances. It’s not as if he was able to prevent or drag us out of our rut last season, and yes he’s only one player but his ability to make a big difference on the pitch is on the wane, and he’d likely start even more games on the bench.

Just not sure he’d be as big a loss as many make out.

I would definitely want another midfielder in addition to Lavia if Henderson and Fabinho go.

Lavia seems a definite because he's homegrown though.

Romano reckons Hendo's personal terms are done, so it's just the club fee to go. Pretty nuts all of this.

The amount of info out there makes me think it's all conjecture though and he's staying

🚨 Jordan Henderson has accepted Al Ettifaq proposal. There’s an agreement in principle, still verbal. Contract agreed.

Deal now depends on Liverpool and Al Ettifaq discussing on the fee, no chance to let him leave for free πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¦

Hendo spoke to Klopp today and there’s green light.
