I was hoping we could challenge if we got signings, but tbh I'm realising a lot of tactical work needs to be done regardless of signings.

About fecking time.

170m on 21 year olds Caicedo and Lavia? Chelsea will have to be very successful and win things to justify their outlay and these players will be impossible to shift if they don't do well.

Let's just say I'm not too fussed to miss out on these particular players and the behaviour from the club suggests they agree that these players are overvalued, but our midfield situation is the major concern.

At this point I'm not sure the right midfield player will be available this summer. I'm not sure Lavia is ready to play that role for us anyway but Caicedo looked good enough, but just for one season in a team that was doing very well all around. Perhaps we can sort a loan to take us through to January when I'm sure the field will look a lot different to what it looks like now.

So apparently the 5 year amortisation rule is a Uefa one only. Clubs can still amortise contracts over their total length for stat. account and for premier league financial sustainability purposes. Only becomes more of an issue when Chelsea get back into Europe. Makes sense why Chelsea continue to hand out these long deals.

We can't wait until January. We already wrote off one season waiting for Bellingham, only to not sign him.

Who? I may think they dont do enough, are slow and reactionary. But i agree with the way they've always done it under Klopp in regards to not signing players for he sake of it instead making do until a target we are sold on is available.

Markets awful right now and seeing as we left it so late and everyone knows we have 111m + its only gona be worse.

The reason we wanted Caicedo was he is very good off and on the ball and he can play multiple positions.

Players like Sangare, Doucoure and Fofana are ball winners but are very slow on the ball and will be exposed when we build up play.

Mats Wieffer of Feyenoord impressed me when he played for the Dutch national team. Very good tackler and isn't bad on the ball.

It won't. Nobody will be available, like always. Apart from Andre supposedly.

There’s probably not many CDMs we can’t afford if we were willing to spend £111m on Caicedo so maybe we should be looking at Barella or Kimmich. I’d still sign Andre in January.

Kimmich may not want to join us but Bayern may need money after the Kane deal.

Newcastle look absolutely superb and tbh I thought Chelsea had the makings of an excellent team yesterday - even top 5 is going to be a real challenge this year.

Spurs also have 100m burning a hole in their pocket.

Need that CDM in this window or we can kiss the CL goodbye again.

Yeah, cool reply. Everything I’ve read suggests he’s very good and very highly rated. So what are you going to make up that suggests otherwise?

Barella isn't a dm. Andre could do it but he plays mainly in a double pivot.

We're obviously going to sign someone given we clearly have £110m to spend.

I have absolutely no idea who that could be but I know we've been linked with Doucoure from Palace and Foffana fron Monaco.

Whoever it is needs to be in place before the Newcastle game.

£70m for Kimmich on £300k would be my preference.

I know the wages are a lot but I'd see that as better value than some daft fee on Palhinha or Doucoure.

I'd not let Schmadtke anywhere near the new deaos either if we want to get it done.

Positives from yesterday, I thought Szob and Mac Allister, despite playing in positions less suited to their talents were both superb.

Both look like brilliant buys, AMA looks more composed than Szobo but he’s 22 playing his first game in the league in about 3 different positions as the game progressed.

Get a CDM behind them and that’s a great midfield going into the season.
