They've got to be close to a transfer ban, surely
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It doesn’t matter they’ll have signed everybody they need ffs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They can just get players on loan from Strasbourg who they own and are signing some of the best French and African youngsters out there.

They are cheating the whole system but because its an American owner it is getting brushed under the carpet. Had it been Arabs the whole media would have been on to it.

I'm glad the Sangare release clause will be triggered by PSG.

Also forgetting their revenue will be significantly down through no european football....

Some immensely creative accounting will be required. They'll be consulting Insert for his advice on this I imagine.

It all makes sense and is quite genius really. They know there’s a good chance they’re going to get a ban. So they go after the best young talent, give them massive contracts and assure them that they’re pretty much guaranteed playing time during their whole contract because they won’t be able to sign anyone. And as a consequence, in a few years they’ll have a settled squad all in their prime.

Or they know that FFP is going to fall apart when City get away with everything.

Win win.

The problem is they're probably banking on any punishment being a small hit.

A fine won't matter to them, a transfer ban won't matter to them given they now have about 40 players on long contracts, and a year out of Europe won't matter if this allows them to win the league/CL before the punishment is implemented.

The only way it'll be stopped is point deductions but do we think the Prem would actually do that?

Football is a bloody mess in other words.

Even a point reduction would have to be pretty incredible to make a difference.

It would need to be relegations and 10 year European bans. Either that or I wish we’d just stop bothering with FFP too.

Didn’t Chelsea already have a transfer ban a few years ago? To then have it happen again, there should be a much worse punishment.

All their fans seem to think they will be amazing this season and finish top 4/5 but I keep saying, they have no goals, or proven goal scorers in that team.

took city years to spend a bill, amazing really

True.
I'd bet a lot of money City will get off scot free

I just don't understand how it's possible.

I know they've got good money for a load of crap this summer but that lot only comes to £250m maximum. Caicedo, Lavia and Olise deals takes them well over a billion spent in the last 2 and a a half seasons, so £750m net.

They've already posted losses of £120m and £153m in the last two financial years and only a certain chunk of that can be offset due to Covid.

It just seems like blatant cheating to me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
as it stands with caicedo 925m in the last 18 months by chelsea.

In summary:

Everyone agrees Schmadtke is a clown.

FSG can't do anything right. We finally bid and challenge for the most expensive players. I thought some people would be happy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Pretty sure most have recognised that and are blaming Schmadtke but it's them who appointed him so...

They used to be exceptionally good at their football white collar appointments but it's not been great twice in a row now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On what grounds is Schmadtke being blamed tbh?

Pavard is the latest rumour. Not a bad signing if it means moving Trent to the CDM role.

We're battling with United for him though so could well lose that too...

posted on 14/8/23

Think moving Trent to the CDM role is the worst thing we could do, if he was to play in midfield fully he'd be better as more advanced or on the right side of a 3 with a proper CDM beside him

Romeo Lavia has chosen to join Chelsea from Southampton. Liverpool were pursuing but are aware of decision. #CFC & #SaintsFC have good relations, so no issues expected on deal or personal terms. Fee likely to be around £50m + add-ons @TheAthleticFC #LFC
