You're wasting your time. These are people who think the club actually changed direction because we extended Hendo's contract, and that Edwards left as a result of that change of direction.

Just let that sink in for a minute.

To address that Edwards letter - no idea where that conversation got to aside from the inevitable insults I'm sure were sent my way

For the sake of any relationship you have within a business that you leave, leaving on good footing is always the best way to go. Somebody with the career like Mike Edwards was always going to, at least on the very outside, leave on good footing.

I think the comparison between the way the club acted with Wijnaldum and the way they acted with Henderson a couple of years later showed that they deviated from the plan that had suited us well.

It's well documented that had it been up to Klopp, Wijnaldum would have stayed and re-signed a new contract but Mike Edwards and Gordon said no.

For Henderson, we went with Klopp's decision and not with Edwards who didn't want to see the squad continue to age - again all of this is quite well documented.

Henderson signed a new contract in the August of 2021, Edwards announced his departure 3 months later.

Again, I think everybody left on good terms, but it was fairly clear Klopp was getting more power at the club, there was a change in direction, and Edwards chose to leave.

I'm convinced there was more to his departure than just what was written in his letter. Again, not some major conspiracy or hidden big argument but the timings just align all too well.

I just think the club chose to listen more to Klopp over our sporting director on matters that should have sat with the sporting director, and he chose to move on as a result.

Right so wading through all that inconsequential rubbish, having dodged the questions asked, Edwards left because Klopp wanted his captain to sign a new contract? Interesting tiny piece of backup for this elaborate conspiracy theory. Yeah it probably won't come as a great surprise when faced with the revelation above that Edwards left because Klopp wanted his captain and role model to sign a new contract, I think I'll go with the actual facts we have at hand instead.

Oh can we add to the conspiracy and say the ghost of Edwards returned and got rid of Henderson, Milner and Fabinho in one window? Or can we give that to the new guy as proof of continuing this Edwards guillotine approach to players reaching the grand old age of 30?

Santa Clause is real.

The Santa Clause is a 1994 American Christmas fantasy comedy film written by Leo Benvenuti and Steve Rudnick, and directed by John Pasquin. The first installment in The Santa Clause franchise, it stars Tim Allen as Scott Calvin, an ordinary man who accidentally causes Santa Claus (played by Tim Allen's actual stunt double, Steve Lucescu) to fall from his roof to his death on Christmas Eve. When he and his young son, Charlie, finish the late St. Nick's trip and deliveries, they go to the North Pole where Scott learns that he must become the new Santa and convince those he loves that he is indeed Santa Claus.

The film was released on November 11, 1994, and grossed $190 million. It received positive reviews from critics and it has since become a Christmas-time staple among viewers.[2][3][4] Its success led to two sequels, The Santa Clause 2 (2002) and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006), which were both financially successful despite the former's mixed and the latter's negative reception. The franchise continues with a follow-up series, The Santa Clauses, which premiered November 16, 2022 on Disney+.

The film was originally going to be released under the Hollywood Pictures banner, but following positive test screenings among children, it was transferred to the Walt Disney Pictures banner.

I just think ME chose to leave because he didn't agree with some changes in the way the club chose to operate.

And by "some changes" you mean Hendo signing a new deal? Why would a sporting director leave for that reason in the first place? That premise alone is too bat sheet for me to entertain.

And ME didn't exactly choose to leave. He had made that choice a long time ago. He didn't extend his contract when it expired and never planned to, this was well known. We tried to get him to stay, as we did with Klopp, but he refused. Look at his career history FFS.

I'm sure Edwards did clash with Klopp over the Henderson deal but he'd also been at the club 10 years, cited burnout, and still hasn't picked up a new job 12 months later.

The bigger conspiracy, if we wish to call it that, is why Ward left so soon after taking up the job and why we were unable to hire a long term replacement despite knowing Ward was leaving 6/7 months ago.

posted on 22/8/23

I don't think Klopp had anything to do with Edwards leaving personally. In fact there's only a couple of bit of twitter that suggest that's the case and people have just run with it.

Yeah that was strange. I think it was Gordon who stated it was partly due to wanting to spend more time with his family, taking a break from football, after eleven years at the club. Which would seem truthful considering he rejected taking the Ajax job after leaving, which many had been saying he had already agreed before leaving.

Although it does seem strange you'd leave a job so quickly after getting a promotion. Perhaps he didn't like the extra responsibility. I've seen people leaving jobs soon after promotion for this reason.

I told you, the difference between the way the club acted between the Wijnaldum and Henderson contracts, the timing between his announcement and Henderson leaving, and the way the club has been run since he left being quite different.

For the record, it's just what I think may have happened. I don't claim any of this to be fact. In fact, Carra has also suggested similar in the past and he's a hell of a lot closer to the club than any of us.

You're acting like I'm suggesting Klopp slept with his Mum ffs calm down
