It shows that we need to invest in Jan. Huge opportunities in 2024.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Completely agree, vital that we keep pushing forward. With City stumbling there’s a great chance here. I think we need a forward
Forwards again had no flow. Salah is being output monster and should have had a assist but was pretty dire. While he is getting output the rest have gone missing and Salah jets off after next 2 games.
Endo another who jets off and he has been pretty good for us.
Kostas out for the season

Gakpo starts tonight apparently
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's such a frustrating player, but had to play due to Nunez being off form, however I feel Nunez has looked better in the past 2 games
We need to sign a left back if Kostas is out for the year, Gomez needs to cover at right back and is injury prone himself and Robertson will need time to come back from such a long period on the sidelines.
Gomez is now our backup right back, left back and CB. Needed in all areas.
Last two games feel like they will be a microcosm of this season. Should have won both games but not quite got the quality up front to win them and coming up short. Unfortunately we are just too reliant on Mo for goals, once again none of the other forwards step up. Even our probably second best goal scorer Trent couldn’t do his thing today.
Got to say I’ve never rated Gakpo personally and just don’t think he’s the right. He’s a good finisher with his feet but that’s it, the rest of his game is average to poor. He just doesn’t do enough. Diaz I have no idea what has happened to him, sad watching compilations of him pre injury compared to what we are seeing every week now. Badly need Jota back asap.
Shame as the defence has been title challenging, VVD incredible. Konate with his customary clumsy moments but good overall too. Much better performance than last week though so that’s an improvement.
Gakpo is a Man U striker. He is very limited. He's 6ft4 and I saw Elliott win more headers than him. Saliba and Gabriel bullied him.
Did Klopp say anything about Diaz injury?
I said it on the thread but Gakpo is the smallest 6 foot 4 individual I’ve ever seen. Has no physical presence whatsoever for a big lad. Not a threat in the air, no threat in behind. Just offers nothing.
I think try him out on the left and bench Diaz for a while to see if that makes a difference. Nunez doesn’t exactly offer much aside from some gut busting runs and a customary crap miss.
All four forwards have been really poor for a while. Salah has moments in games where we see quality but generally his gameplay is rubbish at the moment.
Bizarre that all of our forwards have fallen apart at the same time.
DJ has had an absolute meltdown tonight for some reason
We are really missing Mac Allister line breaking passes. We just play the diagonal ball to the wingers which can easily be defended. Our creativity from the middle of the park is very poor. Szoboszlai had an opportunity to pass the ball wide and he decides to shoot. That was a very poor decision by him.

I thought that he was rubbish yet again. Needs some time on the bench. I’d start Elliot right now tbh.
Yeah our attacking play is very one dimensional at the moment. Trent inverting and lumping crosses in every single attack is becoming a bit predictable. Otherwise just hoping Salah creates something out of nothing is the only other string to our bow.
szob and jones put in a shift and did absolutely fine, far from rubbish. Absolute nonsense to say that he was rubbish again just cause he chose a wrong option once.
Ontop of that you have to factor in the opposition, theyre not playing vs fkin dummies in training are they? Arsenal pressed high and worked very hard and caused our mf foodd for thought going the other way too.
MF did better than i though it would especially Endo, who had a good game. Both cbs were good especially Konate. Trent was good on the ball, Gomez did relatively ok eventually after a shaky start.
Biggest issue was the form of the front 3 again espeically Diaz and Gakpo but even Salah aside from the goal was poor overall again. Not much chemistry between themselves or their mf, the wide men were found oftten enough by our defenders and salah did cause some problems and the goal, Diaz pfft the less said the better, bottled it everytime he had White 1v1 passed it back to Gomez or whoever or looks to cut in and pass infield square.
Gakpos up vs 2 of the best cbs in the league rn so i can cut him some slack but for someone his side very weak, and he seriously needs to be more proactive as opposed to reactive hes on his heels when he should be on his toes and he if hes gonna fit in the team plaiyng that role his game needs serious work he needs to improve on runs, work rate, link up play and being more pjysical else hes gonna get bullied by prem cbs and offer very little.

Its so strange we're so comfortable going so direct from the back long diagonals but when we're wide or in the final 3rd we'd rather pass it back and cycle it around and everyones allergic to the box most the time with no1 in it.

Yeah, I agree. We’ve scored plenty of goals from outside the box and people cream themselves when we score from them, so they can’t whinge just because it doesn’t come off every time. He doesn’t need benching either, he’s just being a victim of his ridiculously good start. People need to realise he’s still settling in to a new league and from what I’ve read he seems to be having a few issues off the pitch, with settling into a new country. Anyone questioning his attitude and putting it down to a few social media posts, are just full of hyperbole.

I don't mind seeing how we play without Salah tbh. I know it's blasphemy to some but Salah is a paradox at the moment. He's not really on it and sometimes he gets the ball and looks like a kid, but still our saviour.

Yep. This team is raw and half of them are still new. With a few additions, time to adapt and time in training with Klopp I can honestly see us becoming unstoppable again. United and Arsenal very lucky. If we can polish our game we will see success. Lack of concentration, conceding early goals, players miscontrolling the ball and poor decision making will be ironed out with time together and training under Klopp. We didn't get the results we wanted but overall I'm pretty happy with our progress and still in a great position.
