Forwards again had no flow. Salah is being output monster and should have had a assist but was pretty dire. While he is getting output the rest have gone missing and Salah jets off after next 2 games.

Endo another who jets off and he has been pretty good for us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't mind seeing how we play without Salah tbh. I know it's blasphemy to some but Salah is a paradox at the moment. He's not really on it and sometimes he gets the ball and looks like a kid, but still our saviour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think some of this expectation with regards Salah is created by 6 seasons of extraordinary levels of performance.

He's still:

2nd top scorer - https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/goals
Joint top assists - https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/goal_assist
Top of big chances created - https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/big_chance_created

Sure he'll give the ball away sometimes. His passing isn't always spot on. Does always pick the right option. But he is the leagues most creative goalscorer.

A paradox? Not sure about that. He's just not absolute perfection.

It was bobbling before it reached him to be fair. But yeah maybe should just have put his laces through it.

Yeah, it bobbed just as he was about to hit it.

It's not just the expectation. Half the time he can't trap a bag of cement. But he has a couple or so moments every game where he is his old self and capitalises frequently IMO. Truly world class.

I wouldn’t bench Salah, as poor as he is during most of the game he still can bag you a goal or assist out of nothing which nobody else in this team can do consistently.

I think we’ll invest in another forward in January.

Any news on Diaz’s injury? Think we need to try some new attacking systems out, particularly with Salah going to afcon.

Diaz seems to have lost a yard of pace and all ability to beat his man on the wing but is a decent finisher and has proven can get on end of crosses. Nunez looks more useful on the wing where there is less pressure on him and he can use his pace but can’t hit a barn door playing through the middle. Gakpo looks crap everywhere he plays.

Would like to see us try either or both of the following:

Nunez- Jota- Salah
Jota- Diaz- Salah

When Salah goes, Elliott I guess. Pretty lacking in cover there.

Diaz doesn't beat a man, he beats men because he is always double marked and still occasionally gets through. Any team that tends to leave their right back one on one with Diaz would regret it IMO. Agree that we need some dynamics upfront to exploit our strengths. We'll see what happens with Diaz when Robbo is back.

That first 20mins of the second half though

That's what we should at developing into. More confidence in our forward line and the game is wrapped up in that 20min spell

szob and jones put in a shift and did absolutely fine, far from rubbish. Absolute nonsense to say that he was rubbish again just cause he chose a wrong option once.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, I agree. We’ve scored plenty of goals from outside the box and people cream themselves when we score from them, so they can’t whinge just because it doesn’t come off every time. He doesn’t need benching either, he’s just being a victim of his ridiculously good start. People need to realise he’s still settling in to a new league and from what I’ve read he seems to be having a few issues off the pitch, with settling into a new country. Anyone questioning his attitude and putting it down to a few social media posts, are just full of hyperbole.

I thought the starting midfield did pretty well too.
Gravenberch was absolutely fecking awful when he came on, so bad he killed any kind of momentum we wanted to build in those last 20 mins. Lost the ball countless times and made it a very difficult end to the game for us.

Diaz is a shadow of the player he was before the knee injury. Hes bottling most 1v1s he gets vs the oppo fullbacks. His form is dreadful and i can't believe hes still being picked. Klopp did this last season too, no matter how bad players were he kept picking them.

As Carra said in he link above, Nunez has to be 2nd name on our team sheet. Even with his poor scoring form in games he makes something happen which is a lot moe than Diaz and Gakpo are doing. Id also say out of our entire attacking options hes literally the only one with any connection/chemistry with another atttacking tm8, being Salah and Nunez link up quite well this season.

Gakpo has a lot to learn and improve on if he's to play the role Klopp keeps putting him in too. Only 24 and coming up to a year with us? so theres time but theres a hell of a lot there he needs improvement on especially in that role.

did like how he broke the lines though with passes into feet inside the arsenal box...

At least it was a half decent performance yesterday even with a misfiring attack again.

Grav has only looked good in Ropey league and the odd time off the bench in PL games. He spends more time slipping of the ball than doing anything with it.

Gravenberch is knackered after 60 minutes. He really needs to improve his fitness.

The attack could be a bit more fluid, both collectively and individually but I really don’t think it’s coincidence that we’ve look more solid defensively at the same time.

Not sure many will agree but I feel AMA is important at 6 for the system with the current personnel.

How is nothing being made of the penalty from yesterday? That decision was a huge mistake yet again from VAR and they seem to be getting away with yet another clanger.

AMA would replace Dom on current form. We do lose Endo soon and he's been playing well for us.

Possibly although I find the criticism of Dom more than daft myself (although wholly predictable unfortunately). He’ll not be dropped often, if at all.

But I’m talking about the system and moving the ball forward quickly so that our forwards have a bit more time and space after transition.

Pity we didn't win that yday

Can I just say, I know we moan about Spurs fans on here but in reality, Arsenal have the WORST fans. My brother in law has been spamming my WhatsApp since yday saying we overwatered the pitch, then we overwatered their side, apparently we didn't cut the grass since Weds, Tsimikas should have been stronger (...), the watery pitch made Odegaard/Saka slip - the WORST fanbase I tell you

Arsenal fans do come up with the most incredible excuses for not winning matches. Imagine Arteta if that handball decision went against them too.
