I do think Diaz is hampered by the system more than Mane was though. Robbo went on the outside of Mane far more than he does for Diaz, and Gomez never does, which I feel mean Diaz gets doubled, even tripled, up on.

Fair comment. Diaz main role in the team right now seems to be ball-carrying, especially with Szob out of form for a while now. I think I would still rather Gakpo plays on the left

Diaz, Gakpo and Nunez (and I guess Jota too) all offer something different From the left.

Diaz protects the ball brilliantly, as well as anyone in the league.

Gakpo can manipulate a ball and has a very underrated cross on him, he also has a ridiculously good first touch.

Nunez offers raw pace and a long shot option.

Jota plays between the lines better than any of those three.

i wont be shocked if atleast 1 of them isnt here next season

Mane’s movement created a lot of space for others

Diaz dribbling draws more players towards him to open up space for others

Yeah me either, but I also think that depends on whether Salah stays or not. Can we lose two? Maybe, but it’s been great to have five to choose from and such depth these past 18 months.

that would be disappointing, its been nice when we've had 2 or the 5 ont he bench albeit missed salah for afcon jota injured a lot. imagine going back to just 3 or 4 but without mane bobby and salah available every game.

if anything we should be adding making itt 6.

Potentially we'll Danns getting more minutes next year, depending on how Slot plays of course

If we are relying on Danns next season other than early rounds of league cup then we have well and truly failed.

We need to sign an attacker that can play on the right, or predominantly plays on the right.

Nah Elliott is primed to play in Slots 10 and Doak needs a loan. We have to sign a right sided attacker.

I don’t like Elliot on the right particularly, or not in the current system.

No problem with Danns getting more minutes, in fact I hope he does in the last two games. He’s an exciting talent.

We have no idea what Slot is going to do

Yeah he does good work in that little pocket slightly deeper and in between the LB and CB.

He’s got arguable the best technique in the squad once Thiago leaves, if he had genuine pace he’d be potentially world class. Still could be imo anyway.

Think we've been linked with Bakayoko from PSV recently who plays RW.

21 years old so is a good age if Salah stays for another year or two.

And be happy with not winning stuff too? We need someone that can play instead of Salah and also take over when Salah is done. Elliot isn't really a winger and Doak is too young. Salah has big boots. We cannot fail to prepare like we did with midfield a few years back.

I like Elliot but I have to say, I don't see him in this light. Will wait and see what the new manager thinks.

With the ball at his feet and in the final third he’s already posting underlying numbers that stand up against some of the best players in the league

Only just turned 21, he reminds me of Gotze but less pacey

The pelters he was getting on here last season seem laughable now imo. There’s no substitute for tekkers.

Elliott has that street football vibe. Great tekkers but also puts his body on the line. Think he'll have a great career with us.
