Yeah there's absolutely no way we would be dumb enough to put a release clause in Macs contract, let alone one that small. Not even the Glazers would be that stupid.

Only thing I can think of is the ridiculously low price we paid for him….
Robbing taking the Mancs apart on Kash's thread I see, top work. They're a sensitive bunch when it comes to Fergie's legacy.

Haha, it only takes the slightest wum and the weirder ones can’t help themselves.
In the same breath you’ll hear them say how sensitive we are and that we live in the past.
Turned into a half decent debate despite Winston attempting to derail his 10,435th thread. I swear he’s getting worse, he’s a fvcking basket case.
Yep. His thought process:

Talk of Toney being available for £40m as in the last year of his contract.
Got a London club written all over him though.
Re: Isak, I suspect he’ll want CL footy. We’ll see but it’d be no surprise to see him go this summer, although probably not to us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Toney to Arsenal and I think they win the title next year as long as they don’t lose anybody and have the same injury luck as this year.
Guardiola sounds very done with things at City.
Arsenal had all the luck this year and still didn't win it. I think their chance has gone.
Apparently Klopp's farewell had 3 times as many viewers as City's title presentation.

Bit late to the table but was watching all the Klopp goodbye stuff yesterday and the main thought I took away from it is that I didn’t get a sense of regret from Klopp, if anything it was relief and a sense that he was in no doubt he was doing the right thing.
It was said often yesterday that most managers don’t have a say when they leave a club, thus don’t get any kind of send off. More than ever I think everyone, at the club and the fans, feel that the timing is perfect.
Also, the more I see about Slot and the way he’s operated at Feyenoord, gives me a degree of confidence that we’ve got the best manager that’s available that suits the club at this time.
I’m not suggesting that Klopp had a hand in his appointment, but I get the impression that he certainly approves of him.
Slot been confirmed by the club.
Also Joyce added this bit in to his tweet to presumably kill off any speculation "One of his tasks will be to improve Darwin Nunez who Liverpool are continuing to back."

Yeah agree with this, it's very much on his terms and you feel a big part of that is ensuring the club was left in a good position which to be fair, he doesn't have to worry about but being the man he is, he did

Quite a sassy little addition that from Joyce
We need to control games better next season. A lot of times we play in 6th gear whilst a second or third gear is better to slow the tempo down and drag the opposition out of position. Playing in a quick tempo also leads often to losing possession and being vulnerable to counter attacks.
Szoboszlai and Konate were other players who got a name check in his article too.

Yeah I was expecting him to fall to pieces during his speech at some point but he didn't, he just seemed really happy. It felt more like a celebration.

I think any doubt has just been wild media speculation and nonsense social media stuff. I’d be amazed if anyone at the club are having any doubts about keeping him at this stage.

Won't be surprised is we try and sell Konate. Brilliant defender but too many injuries plus he has always said that he wants to play for PSG.

Guess it depends if Slot wants to carry on with Quansah as first choice, as I don’t see Konate settling for being a back up. Do think we have to be careful not to overplay Quansah at this stage, so ideally he shares game time with Konate. Unless we’ve got a top drawer replacement lined up, of course.
We won’t sell Konate, he was arguably the best CB in the league for months of the season. Drastic recency bias there. I’d be selling him for VVD money but hope we don’t even consider it.
I think when a man openly admits he can’t go on anymore and you can see it clearly in his physical appearance…there’s no choice but to be happy for him
