Who is this top centre back we should sign?
I'm starting to think BR cannot attract top talent.
There. I said it.
Not until he starts winning stuff or atleast gets the world to notice us in the CL.

I think Rodgers can attract top talent in England but not abroad. Makes sense as his impact in the Premier League has been huge but he's done nothing in Europe so far.
That's why players like Lovren, Lallana etc wanted to join us but Sanchez preferred the boo boys at Arsenal.

I am quite gutted about the Sanchez signing for Arsenal.
If Arsenal still play their slow build-up play in midfield, Sanchez will struggle....just like Ozil last season.
Can't see them making Sanchez captain that quickly though Rap.
Fact is though pay them enough and they come.
I don't think the problem is Rodgers in attracting top European talent. I think the fact we've been out of the Champions League for so long is the problem.
Any player would want to play in Rodgers' system. But it takes that system to be showcased before players notice.
Really? I mean really?!?
No.
I went on the tour last week was told we were the most watched team in the World last season - I think people on here are thinking like fans and not footballers.
The reality is that pay them enough and they come. It supercedes everything from ambition to location to the manager. That's not to say that things like a players family wanting to live in London does not matter but the point stands.
Why are Arsenal a more attractive option for players than us at the moment then?
Because they havn't sold their best player and his family wanted to live in London.
I think that might prove to be a sticking point this transfer window Robbing.
Selling your best players never looks good but I guess we had no option but to do so.

It's life/football at the moment and it's no bother. Just enjoying the ride at the moment.
On a more positive note I think Lallana is going to work out. His style suits us perfectly and I suspect he'll be a success story.

I said this on another thread but I do like the versatility of each player.
If an opposition manager saw, just for arguments sake, Henderson, Allen, Coutinho, Lallana, Sterling could they tell how we were going to set up? I couldn't be sure before kick off and even then I'm confident BR has the minerals and nous to change it mid game anyway.
That, for me, is a massive plus as it makes it hard to prepare against us. It's not like they could assign players to mark others as you don't know where our lads will play.
I don't think that we can't attract top talent across Europe, I just think we're not even trying.
Other than Sanchez, who because of him only coming as a make weight for the Suarez deal was never going to happen, we haven't been linked with any top class talent.
51 days left, lets just see what happens, weve been link with how many players this window?
