Again im not gna be judging players too harshly in an etk midfield atm tbf 😂 likelihood is in a diff team with an actual system they’d be much better.

Brighton's Carlos Baleba is one we should keep an eye on. He can play and looks press resistent.

posted 2 weeks, 5 days ago

Baleba, who replaced Caicedo, who replaced Bissouma. How do they keep doing it! Remarkable but as Klopp said, from doubter to Baleba.

I'm nicking "from doubter to Baleba" if we sign him

posted 2 weeks, 5 days ago

Ugarte is absolute dogshte in the games i have seen him for United. Slow on the turn when receiving the ball and is atrocious in possession. He can't even make a 5 yard pass.

That's why we need a complete player in the 6 position.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Even his ball winning hasn't been great so far. He commits a lot of fouls. Although to be fair it's very early days but yeah definitely not what we need which is obviously why we didn't go for him.

Been surprised by Gravenberch although the real test will be against teams where we're not dominating possession.

Because it's easier for Brighton to get these players into their team as they don't have top players. It's less of a risk for them. When top teams buy these players they have to hope they come good. Similar to Liverpool under Rafa when we bought a load of players at mid range prices and had some work out and some duds. Nobody focuses on the duds at Brighton who haven't worked out.

They bought 8 players this season. 6 last season. 6 the season before that. They spent around £350m in three seasons. How many have justified their spend thus far? 50/50 being kind.

Top teams want to buy ready made players and they cost more. They buy them from teams like Brighton who risked it on multiple players at cheaper prices and found the odd two or three who have worked out and could make the step up.

Ugarte has played 103 minutes of Prem football with no preseason.

Not sure where you're getting your stats from but he attempted 4 and lost two. Also 50% for duals. 3 fouls conceded.

I wanted Ugarte last season before he signed for PSG. Far too early to judge him yet, especially in this abysmal Ten Haag system.

Theres way round it look at City owners, buy another team, sell yourself sylvio for way below market value

i was more on about the many team spunking money away over the years, spurs, utd etc. Utd should have let Ralf sort them out though.

Yes but if Spurs and United did what Brighton did they'd also still have no trophies. Only they'd be judged on that when Brighton aren't. It's different for Brighton, they can take those risks and get those players into their team and see if they work out. The others are trying to win trophies and qualify for the CL.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's a ball winner, he should be playing in front of the defence with two ahead of him, making the simple passes to one of those two or the full backs. No point playing him in a two when he's not good on the ball. From what I was watching that's what they were attempting to do but they couldn't get out, nobody was taking control and there were even several occasion when they passed it back and forwards between the same two players until somebody panicked and lost it.

No-one is talking about Mainoo’s lack of pace. He is surprisingly slow. Throw in Bruno, and Rashford offering absolutely zero tracking back, it’s no surprise he’s a bit overwhelmed.

rashford is like trent when it comes to that, Garnacho was too last night. Rashford did some gr8 tracking back at times but it was hit and miss whether he cba to. Same with Garnacho. I'd say its 50/50 but more like 70/30 they dont.

Rashford vs Liverpool in the cup, sprinting about pressing like a madman ine xtra time lol, so he can do it...

No one is calling Mainoo Seedorf, Zidane, Pirlo anymore that's for sure.

posted 2 weeks, 5 days ago

Mainoos average speed, no slower than mac10? his forms been awful this year. Hes a talented kid though, one that needs protecting at times but like Rashford over the years probably isnt going to get that at Utd anytime soon.

Yeah that's actually not Ugarte's style of play. Ideally for Utd it would be a holding player to dictate the play from deep with Ugarte or Mainoo providing the energy and running and then Bruno being given freedom to do what does.

They've been need a holding midfielder since Eriksen dropped out of the side but they've been getting it horribly wrong. It's glorious to watch

posted 2 weeks, 5 days ago

Yeah I like Mainoo’s skill set but personally I’d play him further forward. His off the ball work is shiiiiiiiiiit.
