Anyway, what do we do? Play Endo? Next to AMA or Jones?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I suspect Jones would play.

I don't think anyone on the board is saying we don't have space for another midfielder, we clearly do. If Endo isn't considered appropriate for the style of play and we need 2 players for each position then we have Grav/<gap>; AMA/Jones; Szobo/Elliott.

So space for one more senior midfielder and then hopefully Bajcetic comes back next season to add depth.

It's just enjoyable to see a player with enormous potential start to realise it, especially given it's in a position that has caused such angst in recent years.

He's playing really well atm...but we've also probably the easiest start to a season I can remember in recent memory.

Still a long way to go but hopefully he can keep it up and prove all of us wrong

Also he still has that rabbit in the headlights moment. Happened now against Utd & Wolves so still needs more confidence to develop that killer instinct.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes jury still out on how this works against opposition where we don't dominate the possession.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, but we don't need to beat those teams if we flat track bully the rest of the league. Beat the bottom 15 home and away is 90 points.

-3 to that already but +3 considering we beat United

Amusingly Utd were in the bottom 15 clubs

I read Chiesa was missing from training too, alongside Jota. Not sure why and I've not verified this myself

whats the team then?

Kelleher
Bradley Quansah Gomez Tsimikas
Jones Endo ???
Salah Nunez Gakpo

Does Morton play? Nyoni come in? do we drop Gakpo back again and bring in a young LF? Or Gakpo drops back play Diaz?

I expect us to go stronger than the 11 i posted though.

I’d go strong and try and get the game put to bed early if possible.

posted on 1/10/24

Can't take p iss. Let's get the points early and then rotate later when there is a fixture congestion.

posted on 1/10/24

12.30 at Selhurst though, itll be rocking for us, wont be like when Utd turned up theyll be well up for i t as per usual vs us.

That said we rested quite a lot midweek before the Wolves game and they came out lethargic for 30 mins.

Nah surely we're going strong against Bologna, not like us to rest players in the group stages especially so early

posted on 1/10/24

We’d be mad to rest players already when we’ve got the likes of Madrid and Leverkusen to play during a hectic schedule next 2 months. Get the points on board as early as possible and then rotate when it’s needed.

I can't see anything like that number of changes tbh.

I think we'll probably see the first choice back 5, possibly Tsimi if Robertson is carrying a knock from the w/end.

Can see Jones getting a game and some rotation up top. My guess for Bologna would be:

Alisson
TAA - Konate - VVD - Robbo
AMA - Grav - Jones
Salah - Nunez - Gakpo

Get the likes of Endo, Bradley and the youngsters on if we're comfortably up in the second half.

Then Diaz, Szobo and (hopefully) Jota will be back and relatively fresh for Palace.

Me and Robbing have got our FSG out material ready for the international break to keep things going during the boredom of the international break.

I look forward to Term & TOOR replying to said material

Term is sound, he just doesn’t like people whinging. His prerogative.

TOOR will pull things straight out of his ass and then try and pass it off as fact, although watching him pretend he knows about the likes of Ugarte, when he repeatedly can’t even spell his name, is mildly amusing.
