Not for me, I don’t think you can question his devotion to the club. He’s been here years and performed at a top level constantly.

If he chooses a new adventure then fair play.

FYI though I would prefer him to stay.

But leaving on a free will leave a pretty bad taste.

If you read the Athletic article it's not quite as targeted as the headline would seem. They want a RB because Carvajal turns 33 this season and has an ACL injury. The shortlist is Trent, Porro and Frimpong - Trent is the priority within the list of options but only if he runs down his contract.

No sh*t - the best RB, available on a free, is the priority signing!

That's not news, that's just common sense.
