Our team of nice guys never get us anywhere with refs. We only complained about the red after the goal. If that was City or Arsenal half the team run to the ref.

We were the better team but it was such a boring game and not a lot of quality. Players seemed down and not willing to take risks, until TAA, Nunez and Diaz came on. Even Salah kept crossing, don't remember him once trying to dribble into the box.

1-0 isn't a terrible result, with the return leg at Anfield but the players need to get their heads up quickly. FA Cup game comes at a good time. Hopefully Elliott gets a game. He will be feeling disappointed not to have feature more over the past two games with Jones' performances and Szoboszlai being out.

Yeah I agree we could do with another but it wasn't something this game told us. The defence weren't poor, apart from some passing earlier in the game, mainly Tsimikas and Quansah. We didn't do enough with the ball in the final third and I was shocked Jones didn't come off for Elliott. Who knows, perhaps he was ill or something? Seemed strange to me.

Quansah ill instead of injured apparently

There will be some players busting to prove a point in the FA Cup. Elliott, Chiesa and Nunez definitely. Quansah will likely start and Grevenberch won't play I'd imagine. Can see Endo partnering Quansah and Morton in the Gravenberch role. Will likely see McConnell start also although so far Slot hasn't been quick to give chances to younger players or rotate much, this game will be the perfect opportunity.

Not getting a centre back won't be something that should cost us unless we get loads of injuries in the one position. We have four first team centre backs, Endo who is decent in there to make five.

Not getting a number six could however if the unthinkable happened and Gravenberch got injured. He's playing a lot and you'd think it's only a matter of time.

Midfield is a concern for me. Definitely an issue with a lack of physicality and relying on Grav who is not the same player from a few weeks back. We ain't singing anyone though.

I don’t agree with you on the centre backs because I’m not sure we could rely on Quansah yet for an extended period and Konate and Gomez are always ticking time bombs on the injury front so we have only really one reliable CB.

Totally agree with you about the 6, at the moment if we lose Grav it could derail our season.

Just wish we could try and capitalise on our position and bolster the squad in at least the midfield and that probably wins us the title.
