If no left back then Slot really needs to give Tsimikas a run. Tsimikas at least is a better defender than Robbo.

Tsimikas isn’t better at one single thing than Robbo imo. He’s a poor footballer for CL level and this will be his last season with the us.

No he isn't. Tsimikas is the worst player in the squad. He puts in the odd decent ball and is aggressive but that's about it.

I think Robertson's issues have been overstated also. Yes he's on the decline and has had a few poor games and it took him longer than normal to get up to speed after his injury issues at the end of last season and then with Scotland but he has performed well in most games.
Definitely a position that needs looked at but not as urgent as some think, for me.

My first choice would be Gomez at left back but he is injured.
Robbo has made loads of mistakes which is unsustainable. How many mistakes has Tsimikas made this season? There was that one header V Milan which he missed which lead to a goal. He has not let us down defensively.

You’re right there actually, but there’s some left backs in the game at the minute that I’m sure would like to play for Liverpool and are vastly better than Tsimikas even at his best.
It’s a pretty easy upgrade imo, certainly easier than the other parts of the squad we could improve.

Tsimikas has done what he was brought in for to be fair to him. Rotational option to give Robbo a rest in cup games and the odd league game.
He's not ever going to be starting quality but he's been a success given his transfer fee and the role he was asked to play.

Peak Robbo smokes Tsimikas at everything but he is on a serious decline and we can't he is better than Tsimikas at all especially when Robbo is making mistakes game after game. He needs to be taken out of the firing line.
All the Trent criticism hid the fact that Robbo was poor and he was no where to be seen for that Amad goal.
posted 1 day, 6 hours ago
Robbo is just going through a bad period or having bad season where he's not at the top of is game. He still looks rapid enough to me and I think he will come out of it later this season or next season. It happens. Even Salah has had such a period IMO, but obviously the standard for him still remains high even when not at his best.
I agree with Kash that he could be taken out the firing line for now as he's really crapped the bed multiple times, but long term he is still our guy IMO.
posted 1 day, 6 hours ago
Personally, I think Robbo's poor form has been slightly overstated.
I suspect that's for 2 reasons - firstly the rest of the team have been really, really good. I wouldn't argue that of the first 11-15 players, he's probably been the weakest performer. Or at least competing with Nunez for that dubious honour!
Second reason is his stinkers have been high profile, The Fulham game primarily, he cost us that day and I think that intensified the spotlight on him. But he was poor against Arsenal as well.
For balance, he's also had really good games imo. Real Madrid for example. He was good against City.
He's clearly coming to the tail end of his Liverpool career and I'd agree that we should be looking to the future and a new LB in the summer. I just think that talk of him being a liability and costing us the league is too much. He's played almost all our EPL games and we're sat top with 46 points at the mid-point. He can't be that bad!

If his bad games have been high profile as you put it and have cost us points, then he’s a liability. The balance is becoming too far tilted towards the negative for me, too many mistakes and poor positioning outweighs the positive contributions, which if we’re being really honest are way down on what we’re used to.
