I do think some of the frustration to yesterday is the PTSD of being in title races with City

Unless someone suddenly goes and wins 10 games in a row then we're probably back to a much more normal title race this year where mid 80s gets it's done.

We shouldn't need to be perfect every week from here to win it.

Epic Mamba breakdown after one draw in a season when we have only lost once.

I’ve said a few times that Jan is huge.

We’re away at Brentford and Forest and I fully expect Arsenal to win all their league games this month.

If we don't win it this season from here, it will be a massive bottle job. However, looking at the bigger picture and further ahead, it would be nice to have a period of dominance rather than a one off title like last time. One or two or all of City, Arsenal, Chelsea could be much better next season.

Especially if we don't renew Salah and VVD. I think we need to keep them in order to transition properly or next year will be a big drop off.

Yeah Trent's mental conditioning has been a concern for the past 2 seasons tbh. Not sure what has happened or if it's just ego but it's definitely something the club can look at.

He's a Gen Z boy...maybe send him to therapy to talk about his feelings, they love that shiiit

This board astounds me at times.

We have the second best defensive record in the league; 1 goals worse than Arsenal. And that's with our Gk, arguably the best in the world, missing a fair chunk of the season. We have conceded 1 goal in our 6 CL games.

All of this with Trent and Robbo playing a lot of minutes. They've won the lot. And they're setting us up nicely for more trophies this year.

But apparently we might be a better team with Bradley rather than Trent?! Please. It's like those who claim City might be a better team without Haaland.

Football is always a trade off of attacking and defensive football. Klopp trusted Trent. Slot trusts Trent. Ancelotti apparently wants Trent. In fact the only manager that hasn't is Southgate! And to be frank, I don't want Southgate's brand of football for us.

Trent may go and Bradley may come in and do well. But as far I'm concerned we would be losing a phenomenal footballer and be worse off for it.

Not sure they'll win all their games to be honest.

They'll probably smash Spurs but even though Villa aren't as good this year, Emery has had Arteta's number a few times. Then Wolves have a bit of a new manager bounce and Molineux can be quite tricky. After that they have City who look to be coming out of their slump.

If they do win all 4 then fair play to them.

Agreed.

Also, last season we played well in the Ropey League and spanked teams but got taken apart by eventual winners Atalanta in one semi final game. Just saying margins can be slim sometimes and when that kind of game comes along, a big game, then you cannot have an obvious weakness for the opposition to exploit. We are doing well in the CL but we haven't won it yet.

They’re on a very good and long run, and personally I expect them to pick up pace now too. I fancy them to best all of Spurs, Villa and Wolves this month.

If we drew with Brentford and Forest, then it could get tight. If we’re 6-9 clear in Feb, I’ll start to believe.

If you include the cups, they have quite a few tough and exhausting fixtures in January and early February.

Hopefully United and Newcastle will make them work and stretch them all the way. They also have to win in the CL to ensure top 8 qualification. If we do our job we should be fine.

posted 1 day, 10 hours ago

We can probably rest our best players against Accrington too. Salah, Grav etc on the bench.

Arsenal will probably not have that option vs United. FA cup is United's last realistic chance to win anything this season.

Teams that end up winning the league have both a strong defence and a strong attack. We have a strong attack but I'm not convinced about our defence. I know we have the second best defence but my eyes tell me concede a lot of chances in the game.

Team for Accrington should be something like

Kelleher
Bradley Quansah Konate Tsimikas
Elliott Endo Morton
Chiesa Nunez Jota

Also have Danns, Mcconnell and other youngsters.

Should be smashing a side 19th in league two with that team. If Nunez can't bag a couple in this game there is kind of game, I have no hope for him.
