I think beating SL in ODIs is always a decent achievement for England. Currently the teams are ranked 3 and 4, with 111 and 110 points.

I agree that Cook is a poor captain. Small signs of improvement recently but overall not great, especially as it seems to be having a negative effect on his batting.

sri lanka fall short of where they would have expected to get to after 30 overs. some patchy bowling from England today and those 20 extras (plus all the extra deliveries) have boosted the lanka score by at least 30 runs. would have been a good effort on this wicket to restrict them to 270 or thereabouts.

Root will never be dropped. Hes the next Atherton however cricket these days has changed alot and if Atherton was around these days he wouldn't make it Imo.

what annoys me boss, its the idea England are worried about their bowling in odi cricket.. so often opt to bat second. when its clearly a batting problem.. always protecting the batting. Like out say root will never be dropped.. he wil be probably be back to opening against Sri-lanka later on in the month.
