One of City/United/Chelsea will come on with a ridiculous offer/wages and that will be it. Why everyone thinks him coming back to Arsenal is basically a done deal I don't know.

Regardless of ANY club coming in for the player, Arsenal have 'first-refusal' as a part of the deal written into his contract when he was initially transfered from Arsenal to Barca.
If Arsenal choose to activate that clause is up to them.
I agree with the OP, Cesc doesn't "love" Arsenal like people here think. The biggest draw we have here for him is the manager. That is the only reason why he would come back. Whether Arsene wants him is another story.

Everybody keeps going on about getting a dm. I guarantee we will not get one, we don't need one and it's not wenger's style.
Cesc would never go to Chelsea, but maybe City. Man U possible but he will have to sacrifice champions league football but then at least he would have more time to bum the silver fox!

I'd imagine IF Arsenal want him, he'll end up at the Emirates.
But I don't think it's as cut & dried as a lot of people (not just fans, but the press) make out. Arsenal don't 'need' the player right now, as brilliant as he is.
As an Arsenal fan I'd want him back at the club, but the final say will be with Wenger and he's a ridiculously practical man, especially where money is concerned.
Henry would never have come out and said he is flattered by interest from United.

Last season when United were trying to sign him Wenger just said he knows he will stay until next year and didn't look bothered, Utd still tried to make more bids after that.

We need a player who can shield the back four. Mert and Kos aren't as solid as some fans make them out to be - heavy defeats against the top teams this season prove this.

We have Flamini! In past seasons we have been desperate for a dm and never signed one. Flamini came back and helped fix our defensive problems. Wenger will not see this as an area that needs improving.
It makes financial sense for barcelona to sell to us, there is no chance cesc will not come to us.
apparently Wenger tried to sign Bender last season and when he failed got Flamini instead.He is not a fan of flamini and will almost certainly try to sign another player in that position.
Problem is Wenger wont over pay so if the price is too high he will rather start the players in his current squad.
Get rid of Flamini and Arteta and sign Schneiderlin and Cesc
