from all those links it doesn't seem Arsenal have any option to buy for a fixed price. If Arsenal bid 30mil then they can still be outbid.
The clause is apparently first refusal to match a price and a split of any sell on 'profit'
Which is a pretty normal deal
But they are at an advantage because what ever the sell on % will effectively just come off any arsenal bid.
I'd love the reports of Liverpool being in for him just to see the reaction of the gôôners on here, the arsenal board would meltdown!
The Kaiser's Trainers
The clause is there despite what you have read. I understand that it took D ick Law's team many weeks to negotiate it, and was the main factor on why his transfer was so protracted.

there is no link to say that either so you're just guessing... but with Wenger being an economist and a smart man, I doubt he would put in a clause which means he needs to match what other clubs pay knowing there's teams like City, Chelsea, PSG around.
Kolo's long schloong or your club can go and spend £30 mill on average dosh like Adam Lalana

I don't think so. There is no way he would go to a club like Liverpool. In fact the dailymail did an article on it last night, it was laughed at so much that the person who published the article denied he even wrote it
The links from the deal all say arsenal have first refusal and a split of sell on profit
I'm not sure why everyone is trying to invent other clauses with nothing to back it up
Arsenal only have to offer half of whatever another club offers Barca for him. Nobody can afford him except Arsenal
As if cesc would join L0serfool
Arsenal will not show any interest till there is firm competition. Barca want an auction. But why should Arsenal bother till someone makes a firm offer. At that point Arsenal need only to activate the clause.
Wenger has literally 3 or 4 players he has nurtured to the the very top. He is not going to give up Cesc to a rival. Otherwise why spend so much time and discount the price to put in a buy back clause in the first place?
The board and Wenger know what Cesc means to local Arsenal fans.
I see the Telegraph actually has no quotes from the club at all just some quotes that Arsenal have not shown an interest from the Barca side. Guess what Arsenal don't need to big up his price. Thats the whole point of first refusal.
Jenius spot on. and there would be no better signal to the fans that it's a new era for the club if we beat United, Chelsea, City to Cesc.

Rather have Cesc playing for Arsenal's midfield than Diaby, Arteta, Cazorla & Rosicky!

I just wanted in on the short-lived Telegraph link posting phenomenon. I couldn't care less about Fabregas tbh.
"I couldn't care less about Fabregas tbh."
He actually typed that with a straight face
You think because I posted on a Fabregas thread that I care? Why would I? I don't think he'll ever be coming to Huddersfield so he's hardly on my bothered list
Our board is dead close season so my 606 time is usually spent browsing the PL boards watching you all get upset at something that is or isn't happening. I hope you DO sign Fabregas. Would vastly improve you and can only be good from a neutrals perspective

Wenger aint going to spend £30m on one player again

How can you possibly claim to have an idea how much AW will spend in the future? Do you have a DeLorian with a flux capicitor?
Cant see him spending that kind of money again on one player I maybe wrong but just cant see it tbh.

In light of current market values, and the monies available to the club you may be surprised.
I aint saying the money isn't there I just don't think arsene will spend big money like on Ozil again, do u then?
