haha utter useless.. 200 that's all

England just need to accept that they will be scoring 200-250. Now they should just find quality bowlers to stop defend those totals.

Lets be honest, England have tried lots f players, their star batsmen in county cricket, the likes of ballance, hales(the so called gilchrist type of player) but all have failed.

So why not look for bowlers who can start defending these many runs? pretty much like Pakistan who can 8/10 times defend those scores.

Problem is the batting, and there are players in county cricket (Taylor, westley, Roy, Bopara, wright) who can take the attack to the bowlers and can score runs quickly.

It's not like this India attack is lethal, it's average.

Nowerdays, there is no way anything under 250 can be routinely defended. The batsmen are too good

Bopara has battered about 110 odi's for England and most of them hes battered in the top 6.. and hes only ever scored 1 hundred and that's against Ireland. his ship as sailed.
taylor should be given a go. dunno why hes not been chosen. apart from biased selection.

Some rubbish batting
Some shocking umpiring

Has meant that this game is now effectively dead. Are the ECB serious about ODI cricket? It doesn't come across that way. Why the fish are England going to Sri Lanka next month to play a load of ODIS? What's it going to achieve?

you cant defend 250 not with the fielding quota as it is..
all it takes is a decent power play and the 250 is done and dusted. even in the last 10 overs your only allowed 4 fielders outside the circle.
England need to bat at a decent rate in the first 20 overs. 4 and half 5 and over and keep wickets. we bat to slowly and lose wickets.

afridi its to make money.. while appearing to care. its a win win situation.
Cook will probably step down for that series and Morgan made captain. if he does well. cook wont comeback.

Agreed, that's all it is. In terms of the World Cup, England won't learn anything from the Lanka ODIS.

Massive differences now between tests and ODIS. Teams that favour tests batter those that favour ODIS in tests. Teams that favour ODIS do vice versa ... It's a bit of a farce. Someone needs to restore a bit of balance

Ps- has anyone seen Duncan since Zimbabwe hammered the Aussies??

Bopara should be in the team as the all rounder, he is a good 1 day bowler and bats very well down the order towards the end of the innings.

Taylor should defo be in there as hes been great for notts. WTF is Ballance doing in the 1 day team?

"Legendary Australia paceman Glenn McGrath is to help groom the next generation of Indian pace bowlers.
The Chennai-based foundation he heads has signed a five-year deal which will see McGrath - who took 563 wickets in Tests and 381 in one-dayers - train India's current and upcoming fast bowlers during his visits to the country.
"I eagerly look forward to working with India's best at the foundation," the 44-year-old said."

So so happy about this. Finally a top bowler with a winners mentality about to give some of the idiots we currently have guidance and advice.

Didn't they employ Donald a few years back? India already have plenty of coaches to teach how to bowl at 80mph

Speed comes with accuracy. No point bowling 90mph if you bowl like Shaun Tait. Our bowlers lack both accuracy and the mentality to regularly to take 20 test wickets.

Not sure how effective Glenn mcgGrath will be given Indias reluctance to spot any talented bowlers. Time will tell. 5 year agreement is a bit though.... Wonder how much he's on!!
