If Hamas didn't hide in the civilian population, no civilians would be dead.

I don't know how they live with their despicable, death causing behaviour

Why do you keep making the same point even though it has been debunked by multiple sources?

Gaza is all civilian population.

Surely a ground operation to seek out Hamas would be better than knowingly killing several civilians for each Hamas member killed?

I googled Morsi. Said it was some Egyptian dude

May'be Kaiser it's because their conscience is clear. I mean the words "human shields" come from the Israeli's. These people are already accomplished liars.

Would be, but they'd prefer to shell and bomb from afar in the "hope" of killing some Hamas members.

Remember the average age in Gaza is 17... It's a territory of kids.

A ground operation would mean that the Israeli's would have to be brave. Not an option.

Exactly - If you're not willing to sacrifice expertly trained fighters in a war.....don't expect the enemy to tolerate the deliberate targeting of their defenceless civilians.

Israel are, at the very best, complete cowards.

All governments lie, as I.F. Stone pointed out, including Israel and Hamas. But Israel engages in the kinds of jaw-dropping lies that characterize despotic and totalitarian regimes. It does not deform the truth; it inverts it. It routinely paints a picture for the outside world that is diametrically opposed to reality. And all of us reporters who have covered the occupied territories have run into Israel’s Alice-in-Wonderland narratives, which we dutifully insert into our stories—required under the rules of American journalism—although we know they are untrue.

It's infinitely more difficult in the modern era for governments to control its citizens. Western governments can no longer get away with using force against its citizens so they have to wage the PR war, which is sometimes subtle enough for people to not notice what's going on.

I think Chomsky uses the phrase 'manufactured consent'

"Why do you keep making the same point"
first time I've made it

"even though it has been debunked by multiple sources?"

actually is a fact as confirmed by the subsequent posts. Hamas is embedded in the civilian population and the cowardly Irsraeli's don't go to a ground search.

you've admitted it's true

Who they see as the next generation of terrorists.
Sure it's an easy way to justify it to themselves and ease their consciences, if they existed of course.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Such a convenient self fulfilling prophecy.

Bomb the shít out of civilians, creating extremism through agony and anger. Point to these young extremist who start resisting the occupation. Say 'i told you they were the next generation of terrorists' before killing more and more, creating more extremists.

It's just a perpetual cycle of justification in hindsight for something they are creating.

It has often been said by observers of the middle east . "Hamas was conveniently created by Israel".

A war of convenience you say. that reminds me, why does America always seem to need an enemy ??

So that they can claim they are hated, which is why people hate them.

"why does America always seem to need an enemy ??"

It's an age old way of unifiying a population behind their government - give them a common enemy. It is not unique to the US.

Warsi has always been thick and very emotional. Always been right of Cameron. How is she going to influence government decisions now she's gone?
Morality left politics ages ago and it's all about "national interest" these days.

What do the west gain by making Israel (their only ally in the region) an enemy? If the Muslim didn't despise the west so much they'd have probably responded better.

I agree USA want to stick their noses in everybody's business, however I would argue that they usually have good intentions. The world would be in a worse state if US wasn't there. The predecessors (previous world powers) invaded/occupied countries and committed horrendous atrocities.

Haha, now its the USA at fault again i see

Tell you what, i am grateful that the USA does get involved in most issues as they are certainly doing it for the good for the most part.

The alternative is China, and that isn't far off, careful what you wish for.

It is a method to a point.

And i guess its a better method than the one adopted in most Muslim countries where a country is run through fear and violence to anyone who steps out of line leaving civilian uprisings(which we saw across the arab world a few years back) as the only way out of it.
Oppression eh?
