Ulloa £8m too much?

And more importantly, our players won't attract the fees Southampton's have. This means there would be no benefit of selling our players because we don't need the £20m + we'd get for them.

So Aries are you going to tell me which clubs have been bidding on your top stars? Any potentially exciting transfer prospects on the horizon?

I can't be doing with most people to be honest because in general I don't like the way people conduct themselves.

People are mostly selfish, rarely do selfless acts, manners and politeness are dying traits, they care much more about their aesthetic appearance whether it be possessions, cars etc in the aim to impress because they feel like they can't impress without it.

I also think the way most men behave, portray and speak about women is quite frankly disgusting.

I have a very select group of friends, mostly female, who I can and do talk to about anything and everything except for football, so I believe I have a perfect balance between the two.

You just have great issues with what I'm saying purely because you don't/can't/won't believe it. The season isn't far off starting and then you'll see whether I'm right or not won't you.

Until then believe whatever you want because it makes no difference to me. Irrespective of whether you think other clubs are like us, there's a huge difference between "wanting" and "aiming to achieve" and we're definitely the latter! I think it's you guys that need to wake up and not be so naive ๐Ÿ‘

I wasn't talking about Albion, my question was about which players have joined or left Leicester.
I don't rate Albrighton or Upson, so we wait and see what Ulloa does.
As for your 'record-breaking' team, Newcastle also got 102 points four years ago, when both they and Albion scored more goals than Leicester did the season just gone. Leicester weren't even the top scorers last season either - Derby were.
And yes, I will believe what I want, and not the rants of a fan of a team that hasn't been in the PL for ten years.

I find it funny that I can have similar discussions with Tottenham and Everton fans, who have much much better squads with genuinely quality players, who can genuinely win matches.

Everton were impressed by us and we definitely took them by surprise. They also acknowledged that we will be a great addition to the league, something Martinez echoed.

Their commentators were very impressed too and said we'll upset a few teams this season and they're completely unbiased. They remarked that we're very quick on the counter, can keep possession and I quote "yet another good move by Leicester, they do move it around the park nicely" and Graeme Sharpe replied "and with great pace too. That Vardy boy can't half move" and "they're a very well organised, tight knit group".

Ladbrokes also wrote an article titled "We can't wait to see Leicester exceed expectations." Have they said the same about Burnley or QPR? Of course not! Why do you think that is?

The other Wolves fans and Villa fans and even the Leicester fans have agreed with me!

How can someone with such a great and fulfilling life afford to spend the best part of a whole straight week arguing on an internet forum with a buch of fans who support a completely neutral club with little connection to their own?

Personally I think your team is decent with 1-2 promising players, but a lot of very ordinary players even at championship level. I think you will struggle and definitely wont be above 16th come the end of the season.

If you want to get your pants sticky over the prospect of Drinkwater's through balls to Nugent thats fine by me but dont you think its time to get off the West Brom board?

Just realised it's Jock, again, under yet another name. Should have realised from the subtle wit.

Jock, Isle of Bute, The Thrush etc., etc., that is.

Jock,
Now it's dawned on me that it's you attempting to WUM by again hanging on to someone else's coat tails, could I ask if you'll stick to just one Albion thread. That way I'll know just where you are to scoff at you.

Got plenty of spare time as a uni student and my girlfriend is away until Monday so why not have some banter with you lot? It's entertaining!

Oh and I think you'll find I'm on the Leicester board and you're on the WBA board sunshine ๐Ÿ‘

So who are the one or two and who are ordinary?

Bute gets it completely wrong again. He can't see that arro's arguments are largely unfounded.
It's arrothefoxinoz coming onto the Albion boards and spouting about Leicester City, saying how most of the Premier League is very ordinary and that Leicester are far superior to many teams there etc.
Er - hello?
Arro's just another fan of another promoted team that gets to the Premier League once every ten years, and he's giving it large because he thinks his club is better and different. It's not.

The players that have joined are Albrighton, plenty of PL experience, Upson who was player of the year and has plenty of PL experience, Ulloa who has scored plenty of goals in the Championship and La Liga and then a couple of youth development players and a goal keeper.
........................................................................
Albrighton????....Plllllllllllleeeease.
He was average at BEST at Villa. Thats why he's not there anymore....

......and Upson????.....ForFecksSake....he was almost a laughing stock in the Prem. It's why he ended up in the Championship.

If you really think that the answer to surviving in the Prem are these 2 average cloggers, then you really have got a rude awakening coming...

How do these threads become combined so that we are on more than one club's board at the same time?

posted on 2/8/14

I'm on the Leicester board not WBA, are you really that thick?

Our club is different but whether you choose to get your head out of the sand and understand that, is entirely up to you!

In my opinion, based on what I believe to be quality, the PL doesn't have many quality players outside the top six. There are plenty of good players but nothing special. I believe, based on watching our players and having been associated with football for over 30 years, that we have four players that are special.

Our club has no debt and has owners that are aiming to achieve European football and have the money and inclination to do it. They're not just making noises and pretending just to get the fans on board with them, not at all. It's an actual five year business plan. This is very different!

Our club is owned by Leicester fans so they want us to be successful both as supporters and owners which is very different.

Our club is owned by an extremely successful company in Thailand and it's their aim to make us into a brand in Thailand and corner that market. It's not just talk either, the players have been paraded in front of the Thai fans twice, once after we won the league and last week to play Everton, which we won so not a bad start in terms of generating the interest. This is very different.

Our club has PL training ground facilities, a very skilled sports science team and a fantastic youth development academy. We've actually signed three players for the future this summer too, how many potential stars have you signed? Again this is very different.

Our club has a large fan base and a stadium set to increase to 40,000 in two seasons. If we stay up, which we all fully expect to, at the start of the third season we'll have an extended stadium and be one of the very few clubs to have a 40,000+ stadium. This is obviously a lot different.

Our club has a first class scouting system and a manager that plays an attractive style football built around working hard for each other but with a great amount of pace and skill. He signs players to fit our team based on the style of play and character of the squad. He doesn't fit square pegs in round holes. He wants players with points to prove and a lot of ability, not those searching for pay checks. This means our team spirit is top notch and is why we play so well as a team. Again this is very different!

So tell me which other clubs in the PL or clubs that could come up next season have those credentials?

We're a lot different you're all just to naive, blind and thick to see it!! Wakey wakey rise and shine fellas!!

posted on 2/8/14

The same Albrighton that put the not amount of crosses in the league last season? Maybe the reason why we've signed Ulloa to get on the end of them?

He's a quality player that lost his way under different management at Villa. The club is in disarray and now he's going to be a huge asset to us. He will be back to his best and his best is why he's been at Villa all his life.

Upson is a squad player so don't go getting all excited! He was back to his best last season and got player of the year and his PL experience will be a benefit to the players that will start.

You've spent £10m on someone who has never scored goals in a competitive league, could well be you with the rude awakening when that massive gamble doesn't pay off ๐Ÿ‘

Albion have no debt either, and our chairman, a self-made millionaire, has no intention of putting his own money into the club - he is on record as saying that the club must be run on its own income, from gate receipts, TV money, player transfer trading, commercial income etc. Is that what Leicester City's owners' stated aim is?
And do you really think that other clubs don't have 5-year plans or aspirations to get into Europe, and that Leicester City are unique in that respect and are therefore very different?
How naive are you?

posted on 2/8/14

It's not often I agree with the deluded WBA fans, but arro I think you are spouting a lot of dribble.

If you are thinking Albrighton is going to be anything other than a player who has a couple of good games then goes missing in the next five you are completely misguided.

Upson is long past his best. The other players you mention I admittedly haven't seen to much of, so I can't comment.

Also Nugent didn't exactly rip up trees in the premiership last time.

But as for the original question on paper it looks like WBA & Leicester have paid well over the odds for the strikers.

The problem is people think they can pick up another Benteke, but class players like him are few and far between.

Leicester are hanging onto Chris Wood just in case they can't sign another forward before the season starts, yet everyone, from Nigel Pearson down, knows that Chris Wood isn't good enough for the Premier League.
A classic example of a 'squad player'.
