It's difficult to compare, would Pirlo have been as effective playing the the PL in a 4-4-2?

Would Scholes have been even better playing a slower paced Serie A, predominantly in a three man midfield.

If it was a tight game and the ball fell to the edge of the area there's no midfielder i'd rather want waiting for it than Frank Lampard, his goal scoring record is brilliant.

And with Gerrard, he has had the ability to drag his team back into the game and has stepped up when Liverpool have really needed him.

That said, you can't over look his mistakes, it's strange for such a good player to make so many high profile errors.

As for Seedorf, he was class, he has done the business in the Eredivise, La Liga,Serie A, Champions League and on the international stage.

I heard that he won 86 caps for the Netherlands but didn't play for his country for six year due to a falling out with the manager
