Funny thing is that if Nico had overtaken Vergne, he would not have been in that position
I just wish people were more consistent with their opinions. Back in China, Vettel got pelters for refusing to let Ricciardo through, but this race Hamilton gets praised.
Lewis should have let Nico through if Nico got close. I.e just not made it difficult for him.
Turns out, on faster tyres, nico couldnt pass. He also couldnt pass vergne as MUDD has said, he also made a meal out of passing Bottas.
A good question to ask - if Nico was at red bull in a 3 man team, how would you think they would perform against each other. For me Ricc 1st, Vett 2nd, 3rd Rosberg
Vettel did not get any pelters for not letting Ricciardo through on this site. Ricciardo was able to get through by himself. Nico was not even close enough to get through and they are both fighting for the championship.
Surely you can see the difference.
The time people were upset with Vettel is for what he did to Webber and his celebration over the line afterwards. That is why he was roundly booed last year
I think Mercedes are now regretting making the call which was quite clearly wrong. They should have advised him to not block Nico Rosberg.
Overall, I think it played into Lewis Hamilton's hands as the public are getting on Mercedes backs over slow pit stops, reliability and now wrong orders.
Exactly and if he plays his cards right, he can get the team to take extra care with his car and strategies. All part of the game
whitehot spur
tend to agree with your sentiment , the drivers within the same team should expect no favours from each other until there own championship chances are mathematically over ,
as a purist i have no desire to see the return of the michael schumacher type manufactured driver championships and asking lewis and rosberg both of closely matched similar ability and both relatively even on points to move over for each other is fair to neither driver and reeks of border line team orders --

-------------- hamiltons main strength has always been his one lap qual pace , not even sure if he has that over rosberg let alone the multitude of other things that make up all the different levels of a F1 driver
Martial back with his nonsense lol
His main strength being his one lap qual pace? Yes perhaps it is
So, hes not a good overtaker?
He's not got aggression?
He hasn't got intelligence
He can't drive in the wet?
He can't manage his tyres?
He can't manage his fuel?
He can't win world championships?
He can't beat team mates?
Jus a one lap speedster who can't do anything else lol. Comical!
Martial, my dear Sir, please give me 5 attributes of being a good F1 driver. I will then do my very best, with obvious difficulty try to give an example of where hamilton has displayed said attribute. Perhaps the board could contribute with it being so difficult.
Well martial artist (U9033) it seems that the gauntlet has been thrown down here. I know that you are not one to not rise to the challenge so let's hear it direct from you.
I know you are currently researching your next article but perhaps you could set aside some of your time and create a new article explaining and listing “the multitude of other things that make up all the different levels of a F1 driver”
I have my own views on that subject so I am sure that it will be an interesting article to contribute to.

if you read my initial post it was in reply to silver surfer that hamilton is no better than rosberg in the multitude of things that make up the different attributes of being a F1 driver as he took exception to my observation that the two drivers are very evenly matched --
Erm yeah, ur point being?
U then said hamilton is a one lap qualy driver, which he doesn't have over rosberg along with a multitude of other etc etc etc. I then listed numerous attributes he does have. Which ur previous posts seem to suggest he hasn't got. But then u said, I didn't say he didn't have those.attributes, at which point i was confused as to exactly what attributes u refer to. Am I missing some th img. Or is this ur razor sharp humour?

jeez --- beginning to wish i never even mentioned that i thought rosberg and hamilton were fairly evenly matched --
Well no not really, that isn't being discussed. You said hamilton is essentially a one trick pony, but he doesn't even have that over rosberg. U then said he doesn't have a multitude of attributes, what attributes are u referring to. That's all I am asking.

Martial, please help us out and highlight the multitude of attribtes you were referring to.
Many thanks
Regarding the Alonso/Hamilton comparison, think you are being nfair to Hamilton gys, he did beat Alonso in his rookie season. Also ricciardo is beating a '4 time champion' as well.
So it should be. Hamilton, then Ricciardo, then Alonso, then the rest.
Ricciardo has had a good first half to the season doesnt make him better then Vettel.
