Also to add that Suarez obtained full media training by LFC on his arrival.
Part of which would have included (as per the 'Kick it Out' initiative) instruction on discriminatory/intolerant language.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a good point, I forgot that he would have training on the matter. There can really be no doubt that he wanted to use that word to racially abuse Evra. The trouble with that particular racial epithet is just how charged it is. Calling a Japanese man a "Jáp", for example, holds nowhere near the weight of that word, despite also being completely unacceptable. Suarez will have known exactly what he was doing and that's why used the word as a weapon against Evra. Disgusting behaviour.
If you want to look at a set of fans who are immature, look to the ones who are unable to understand when something takes precedence over club loyalties.
God you Gooner kids over-react to everything. Gerrard's right. A player that good is too big for Arsenal, and us. He's always destined to go to Real, Barca et al.

Is this a fact? Let's assume it is. Isn't media training teaching players what to say to, erm, the media, not fellow players on the pitch?
There's definitely a part of media training to do with the KIO initiative, how do you know this?
Haha such outrage from the gooners.
Gerrard is spot on.
Suarez is too good for the premiership full stop.
Maybe he didn't need to specify Arsenal but he's not wrong.
Suarez is too good for:
Arsenal
Aston Villa
Burnley
Chelsea
Crystal Palace
Everton
Hull
Leicester
Liverpool
Man City
Man Utd
Newcastle
QPR
Southampton
Stoke
Sunderland
Swansea
Tottenham
West Brom
West Ham

For starters Jáp really shouldn't be an offensive term imo. It's impolite, but nothing more. Nip would be an offensive term for japanese people for me, similar to góok or wog. No idea how jáp became offensive. I guess it's like páki. Anyways that's beside the point (guess i'm thinking out loud)
Who honestly believes that people get trainign for this sort of thing? I think liverpool actually introduced some sort of intrductory thing afterwards to counter future incidents
Wenger bantered of Gerrard put the dog in his place. Rodgers tried to sign Alexis and chambers but both chose Arsenal. Gerrard has no idea what he's talking about.
"Yeah. HIs blog is given a legitimacy by being hosted by a large newspaper, which makes it seem like this person's opinion should be respected"
Anyone can basically write for metro blogs though, saying journalistic integrity for his blog on there is more in line to having a go at the bbc for someone's opinion on the old 606 than it is having a go at the metro.
It even says at the bottom of the article it is written by fans and isn't the view of the metro.
Metro is no longer a respectable paper after quoting caught offside on several occasions.
That may well be true. Still, themselves or journalistic integrity shouldn't be mentioned in relation to the linked article though.

I read a piece on it a number of years ago in an in Fight magazine interview (of all places!) Might have been Easyjet.
Kick it Out had piloted the scheme with the assistance of the LMA and PFA, and was to be implemented at club’s discretion, however I understand that most have it included as part of their player media training.
Even without the Kick it Out initiative, basic media training covers improper terminology etc to ensure players do not place their club in difficult position.
Article is spot on!
Suarez would certainly have blasted Arsenal to new heights if he dragged an inferior team to 2nd.
Arsenal are by far a more attractive club to be at than Liverpool for various reasons in the modern day.
Even with the inclusion of last season I'd be very surprised if Liverpool supporters on here think differently
The OP is mistaken. These are not articles written by Metro jurno's but just football bloggers

As captain of Liverpool, it was in his interest to try and persuade Suarez not to leave, especially to a premier league rival.
Following Gerrards advice, Suarez had the best season of his career, helped get Liverpool back into the champions league, they finished above Arsenal, helped create a cracking advert for BT sport along the way, and he got his wish to join Barcelona.
Seems Steven was spot on all round .
Gerard was right what he said to Suarez was why take a sideways step to arsenal when he could take the step up to barca a year later????
And people call Liverpool fans sensitive <rofl£
It may have been published by Metro.
But Metro/Verbal Jouster could do better and they are slightly re tarded
How anyone can think this is related to Sanchez is beyond me.

Let’s be honest here.
The sole reason why Suarez remained at LFC was because FSG refused to let him go. Nothing more.
In regard to the article it was written by a lifelong Arsenal fan (ladyarse.co.uk) so it’s hardly going to be the most objective. Metro often publish articles by Lee Hurley (amongst other fans).
1. Suarez himself realised that Arsenal could offer him more than Liverpool,
=====================================
Like what, a lower finish in the league, and a champions league qualifier.
2. Arsenal have finished above Liverpool in the Premier League 16 times since 1992 compared to just the five times when the Reds have finished above the Gunners.
===================================
Irrelevant history.
Liverpool did finish above Arsenal, are now in the champions league group stages, as opposed to Arsenal, who are not.
3. During his time with Liverpool, whom Gerrard never thought Suarez was too good to play for, the Uruguayan did not play in the Champions League and won only the League Cup. Had he been at Arsenal during that time he would have played in the Champions League every year and won the FA Cup [and who knows what else he would have helped the side win]
================================
Great. Would have taken part in Arsenals annual champions league disappointment.
Oh well, nevermind.
FA Cup, over a league cup.
Like losing a fiver, and finding £6.50
4. After a period of austerity due to the stadium build, Arsenal have now come out the other side of that and are starting to buy big-name players like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez while Liverpool are losing theirs and have still not started their stadium refurbishment [after having to downgrade from building a new stadium altogether as they realise it isn’t as good as it seems]. Arsenal are on the way back up, can Liverpool say the same?
====================================
Bought Ozil, who helped them to finish below Liverpool, and was generally below par.
Stadium, sounds as desperate as Spurs unbelievable training ground boast.
Arsenal on their way back up, via finishing below Liverpool.
Bizarre.
5. Despite suffering almost half the amount of injuries that Arsenal suffered last season, Liverpool could only manage to finish five points ahead of the London club with Suarez in their side [Liverpool do like the number five]. With Suarez playing for Arsenal, the Gunners would surely have finished above them and could even have won the league.
==================================
Injuries, which are obviously only peculiar to Arsenal, only 5 points above them, only 2 of being champions.
And finally guess work, 'we would have done that', 'we would have done this'.
Truly pathetic.
