I thought that was fairly obvious.

By alleging that Arsenal weren’t a big enough club to facilitate a player of Suarez’s talents.

kneerash-23 Cara Gold

Doesn’t “annoy” me per se, just feel it was an unwarranted and unprofessional statement for a professional football player to make (about any club).

Don’t get me wrong, I was dead against Arsenal signing Suarez and I’m glad that he remained at LFC.

Just strange that Gerrard choose to make his feelings public in the first place. Very impressive for club PR. Almost as if it was a carefully planned press release…who knows.

Gerrard was talkign about a player who just left the club so it was warranted, all he said was Suarez was too good for Arsenal and was he not right about that? Suarez is arguably the 3rd best player in world football and Barca paid 75 million for him, he's too good for any PL club, we were lucky to keep him for as long as we did. So Gerrard was not only right he was also warranted in his comments and you are taking this far too seriously, he said Suarez is too good for Arsenal is that really such a bad thing?

I don't believe for a second you didn't want Suarez, the faux morality is pure rubbish.

As for PR? Come off it lad.

Steven Gerrard is a plum.

Wenger making a mockery of Gerrard's comments earlier today:

"You're never too good for Arsenal and Steven Gerrard knows that."

"But I can understand completely that he asked him to stay because he wanted him (Suarez) to play with him and have a chance to win the Premier League. But it didn't happen, and anyway, Suarez left."

How is that a mockery? Jesus you gooners really are so sensitive, Wengers comments are good and to the point but mocking?

Sorry but only gooners ee any of this as insulting, the rest of us see it as normal enough, both from Stevie and Wenger.

Again I'll ask why do Gooners need so much reassurance from people outside their club? Far far more then any other club, it smacks of a big club trapped in a small club syndrome

You know, knappyrash, for someone who was so outraged when I spoke of the victim complex of Liverpool fans, you're doing a fine job of not being a hypocrite with all your blanket statements about Arsenal fans. And repeating it comment after comment after comment. You're not a hypocrite at all, obviously.

Oh, and I see the hilarious denials about Suarez' intentions last summer are going strong here. And twisted to make it out that we're so wound up, when the reality is that many 'Pool fans' illusions about how massive their massive club REALLY is was shattered by their best player intending to depart for lil' old Arsenal. Something that clearly makes many of the fans insecure.

You'll get over it eventually.

Think it's more that he wanted to leave Liverpool

Haha! Ain't that the truth.

All this from a WUM blog and WUM post?

Suarez never joined Arsenal, was sold for top dollar and replaced by Rickie Lambert.......why anyone finds this funny is beyond me

Saying he's too good for us just comes across as bitter because the man himself wanted to join the Arsenal revolution.

I'm sure the OP was serious and not WUMing and thats the scary thing about it. He actually believes that his link is a valid source, that the media and pundits are biased against Arsenal etc. Its the sort of thing rival fans wait for a Liverpool fan to say then churn out all the stereotypes. No WUM here apart from Wenger biting to Gerrard's bait.

Wenger didn't "bite to Gerrard's bait". I'm sure several journos were dying to confront Wenger with the quotes so he could respond controversially. He handled it with great professionalism. Gerrard could learn a lot.

I love the fact they were going on about Alexis Sanchez being as good as signed for them and he said he didn't want to go there and joined us.

Not sure why all the goôners are getting so steamed about Gerrards remark.

What have Arsenal won over the last decade? Not much. Suarez is a born winner and if he moved from Liverpool he deserved better than the team that makes up the numbers in the CL each year.

Gerrard was quite right.

----------------------------------------------------------------------What did Liverpool win last season? Can you stay in the present or still stuck in the past? If so what have Liverpool won since 1990?

Gerrad was desperate that Suarez helps him to finally win a PL medal. Too bad it never worked and he is now certain to never win one.

Yet another pointless article emanating from the envious Emirates.

Oh sherif you don't half make a show of yourself with your revert to the victim thing.

My comments re arsenal fans being sensitive just look at this article and the same thing when Rodgers mentioned Sanchez and arsenal. It's just pathetic to need the reassurance the fact you all get so worked up about comments from Gerard says it all

Steven Gerrard is one player I love and respect but I believe he made a mistake coming out with this "Suarez being too good for Arsenal"
--------------------------------------------

He made a statement that the vast majority would agree with. Suarez is now at Barca so where exactly is 'the mistake'?
There isn't one so move on
